  1. Um he had trouble throwing to 2nd or 3rd in his prime when he played first base everyday. I doubt seriously he has perfected that while DHing the last few years.
  2. So what you guys are saying is that the key is to score more runs than the Blue Jays do? Man that is some radical thinking. Maybe someone should call Jerry with that theory.
  3. i think you mean tim worrell, as todd retired a good six years ago. D'oh!

Nah, I still don't feel this is any better than a below average offense. Once again the onus is going to be on the defense to stop teams from scoring and create turnovers.
  5. The Sox shuffled their lineup Sunday, moving Carlos Lee up to the No. 2 slot for the first time this season and dropping Jose Valentin to sixth, only the fourth time he has batted anywhere but second. Frank Thomas was back in the lineup after a day off and made a change back to his old familiar batting stance, squaring up his feet toward the pitcher and putting his left foot flat on the ground rather than up on his toes. Thomas is expected to see some playing time at first base during the trip because designated hitters won't be used in the interleague games at Arizona and Los Angeles. "We'll probably get him out there before interleague games start to make sure," Manuel said. "He's worked very hard during infield at first base, but I don't think it's going to be a major deal for him. I think he'll handle it very well." Thomas drew the 1,320th walk of his career in the seventh inning, one more than Tony Phillips, moving into the 30th spot on the all-time list.
  6. What is that his 2nd bad outing of the year?
  7. Borchard is a switch hitter, Rios is a lefty. I very seriously doubt that he will play over Joe. Besides if JM is going to do the samething with Joe that he did with Willie he will play just about everyday.
  8. We need a good pitching preformance from Mark tonight. After getting a ton of innings yesterday from the pen, guys like Marte and Koch are only going to be available on a limited basis if at all. He needs to bear down and get us deep into the game, and hopefully the offense will make sure that we don't need our key pen guys.
  9. Saids the Frank Thomas worshiper
  10. Thats what they would say! "Noyton! Ya da greatest!" From some movie or something... Try one of TV's classic shows, the Honeymooners
  11. Well to anyone else who hasn't played, you can start at anytime. Just start posting your picks on the thread for that particular day's picks to click.
  12. Rocky Biddle Vernon Wells Rocco Badelli Jose Cruz Jr Michael Young Esteban Loiaza Gil Meche Todd Worrell Corey Lidle Woody Williams
  13. Well once again, the top player did not get picked by anyone, but to make it more interesting neither did the 2nd best player. Both Carlos and Joe Crede went unpicked in the 5-24 PTC session. The next best point total belonged to Jose Valentin with 4 points. Pickers were HotSoxChick and WhiteSox247 Congrats and good luck for next time on Memorial Day
  14. Pretty much, except there is a defined point system and rules. It makes it a little less controversial as to which person/player wins each game. Under the pick to click section is the rules and regs that is pinned at the top of the page. Anyone new can jump in at anytime.
  15. How about been there, done that thread... that was Gammons who said that right? So now we have 2 sources of people we can't stand reporting stories in our favor, that's White Sox baseball! BTW Nice signature Cali.
  16. It is going so far so good, but I am just curious how come some of the most opinionated people on these boards have not played? BMR, Brandofan, Clujer, Cerbajo, MrShowtime, TheCritic, DonkeyKonerko, Iguana, WSC425 are amongst the people who jump out at me right away. Any reason you guys are ducking a competition of your peers???
  17. If you pay $13 for your SAT's... trust me you don't need to see your SAT's
  18. How about been there, done that thread...
  19. Personally I think the Dan Ryan at Rush Hour saids it all...
  20. That was supposed to be the whole point of the exhibit. It wasn't just the sport of baseball, but the societial impact of baseball accross the generations and history of the country. I thought it was spectacular. Also on a side note the Eternal Eygpt was incredible and is a must see for anyone who is into Eygptology. The artifacts they had where just aweinspiring.
  21. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=230525110 I love it when the f***ing Yankees lose!
  22. When is the next big tailgating going to be? If it is for the Cubs series I will be there with my wife to hopefully meet everybody.
  23. Someone needs to make this post everytime we get down early. It seems like we always seem to rally when someone gives up early. Heck maybe we all need to fly to Toronto with signs that say "Quit while you are behind Sox!!"
  24. Umm before you critize you should probably do a little be of research. Those were Maggs CAREER #'s. 156HRs, 596 RBI Wow it is 3.82 what a surprise!
