  1. KC had a really high era against EL also, before today!
  2. Two things that have been said about Loiaza that contributed to his late season slides. He becomes only a two pitch pitcher, and he has bad work habits How those have been adressed. Don Cooper now bugs him after every start asking him how many times he threw his change, etc. Plus they added that Cutfastball to his repotoire. On his work ethic, I doubt Don Cooper will let him slack. He is a very hands on kind of guy.
  3. Gary Glover is on to pitch for the Sox, Loiaza is done after a great outing.
  4. Leadoff double for Valentin in the 6th
  5. KC gets a two out run in the 6th, but Loiaza gets a K to end the 6th, making a career high tying 11 K's. I am guessing he is done as he has 103 pitches now.
  6. 10 K's now for Esteban as he gets Sweeney now with 2 outs in the 6th inning His career high is 11 in a game.
  7. Could this be the beginning of his turnaround this year?
  8. CARLOS DOES GRAND YARD WORK!!! 8-0 SOX!!!
  9. halfway home. 4-0 Sox Loiaza has 5 IP 2 BB 1hit 8K's
  10. cancel the postgame show, Berger gets the first hit of the game for KC to lead off the 4th inning.
  11. 2 out walk and Loiaza gets the K to end the inning 3-0 White Sox after 2 1/2 innings
  12. Loiaza gets another K for the first out of the 3rd
  13. Tony G makes it BACK TO BACK 3-0 SOX!!!
  14. MIGUEL OLIVO DOES YARD WORK!!!! 2-0 Sox!
  15. Loiaza gets KC 1-2-3 in the 2nd. Also has two more K's.
  16. SON OF A.... Theme of this year? "Missed Opportunities" Hall and Oates
  17. The game is underway with a K of Tucker!!!
  18. Billy Martin? Ted Williams? I do not recall Billy Williams ever managing. Billy Dee Williams?
  19. Left hand pitcher going today. Same reason that Graffy and Val were swapped.
  20. *sigh*... I posted this information yesterday... Ah Steff you know the "I need a link" crowd. Until today there weren't any stories that had these tasty tidbits in them, that could be referenced on line
  21. Doesn't player motivation fall under the realm of the manager? To the main extent how a player plays is up to the manager, but good managers have the ability to get players to reach higher levels than they would on their own. Look at what Mike Scocia got out of the Angels last year. Look at the job Tom Kelly did with terrible teams in Minnesota, also the Montreal teams that were young and overmatched of years past. We chronically have underachieved under the tenure of Jerry Manuel, dispite frequent changes to improve talent. Let me try that again so it makes sense... To the main extent how a player plays is upto HIMSELF,...

  23. out of those 5 years, how many have we overachieved, and how many have we underacheived. that is the true mark of a good manager. Not the crap about oh you shouldn't have put that pitcher in... it is the results on the field. And with the talent that has been provided Manuel he should have been better than he has done.
