What is lower than F? You had three of the biggest assets on the market, and your best deals were for Tanner Banks and Robbie Grossman months ago. When you have the national media steady mocking you, there can be no other grade.
The White Sox have $50 million in payroll obligations for next year as it stands today. They have $0 for 2026 and beyond. They quite literally have a payroll of somewhere between $65 and $70 million for next season as it would stand today after cutting guys like Moncada and adding in minimum salaries everywhere. They might be losing money this year, but they are not going to lose money next year as it stands right now. That is an outright lie.
And we continue to be the dumbest franchise in baseball. All of these other teams in the luxury tax with god awful deals way worse than this one out here living with it, and the Sox with $50 million committed for 2025 and beyond can't handle it. I'd call them a Mickey Mouse organization, but Disney knows how to run a business.
Deadline report card
Crochet? Nope
Robert? Nope
Fedde 0%
Banks B+
Pham 0%, no reason to have had him to get nothing for him
Kopech 50%. if the LAD/STL deal was for him, 100%, with Fedde and Pham also going out, awful.
Brebbia, Why is he still here?
Baltimore is in the AL Central? That's news to me.
Seriously the guy was getting bought out in three short months. This is a great deal for just the saving money part of it.
Seriously. This. They are probably losing money this year, but next year is WIDE the hell OPEN. These teams have $100 million in revenue before a ticket is ever sold.
