  1. QUOTE(SoxnGiants @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 03:06 PM) The White Sox actually squeezed out a run in the top of the 9th. Not the bottom of the 8th, just an FYI. Sheesh! I pulled a Dierks Bentley... "What was I thinkin'"
  2. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 03:01 PM) lol. Names don't count! Especially enemy names...
  3. QUOTE(hi8is @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 02:56 PM) eh, spellings over rated. mano y mano for future refrence. and 0's are not O's Actually - and not to belabor the point - mano a mano is a form of combat meaning "hand to hand" or, literally, "hand by hand." Mano y Mano is translated as "hand and hand" or, colloquially in English holding hands - a little different meaning, yes? As for that zero as opposed to "o" - that's a bug in the Wordpress software I use for my publishing platform - but thanks for pointing it out because I know how to fix it on the page.
  4. QUOTE(hi8is @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) can i nominate a riviting story about diffrent textures of poop for your next article? or maybe the good old, dung beatle? Perhaps when you learn how to spell, you will be funny. Until then, get a dictionary before you make a fool of yourself again.
  5. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 02:38 PM) I loved you in "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" Ahem...That would be Rick MORANIS...and he's no relation. Besides, I'm much better looking that he is; although that, admittedly, is not saying much. And I actually thought his performance in Ghostbusters deserved an academy award. I thought his dog acting was outstanding.
  6. Of course we all loved that sixth inning performance by El Duque, but I wonder how many of us truly appreciated the by-play between Hernandez and the Bosox hitters. Absolutely classic stuff! Inside baseball like that fascinates me. I wrote a little about it here: http://rightwingnuthouse.com/archives/2005...nside-baseball/ That confrontation with Veritek especially was one for the books. Did you see the Boston catcher talking to himself once the count went to one and two? Wonder what he was saying?
  7. QUOTE(greg775 @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 11:34 PM) I was so psyched that Iguchi made 'em pay for the error. What a clutch blast off a veteran who was pitching a helluva game. Clutch hitting! Gotta love it. Nice to get a day off today and enjoy our 2-0 status for now. GO SOX! Wells curve ball was outstanding. He threw a couple of real yakkers including the pitch immediately prior to Iguchi's home run. And Wells says he hung that breaking ball? Phooey! Replays show it was a real biter. I did a post on my blog about Wells and the curve ball here: http://rightwingnuthouse.com/archives/2005...-thunder-rolls/
  8. QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 05:33 AM) Ozzie was quoted in the Arlington Heights Daily Herald this morning, saying he's leaning to starting Jon Garland on Tuesday if we win Friday. I would guess that would make the rotation for that series as Garland, Buerhle, Contreras and Freddie. Two questions: 1. Is that how you would do it? 2. Did you ever in your wildest dreams think we would face a decision like this? Actually, Guillen will have the luxury of setting up his rotation any way he pleases with the exception of Garcia who wouldn't be available until Wedensday. And I worry about Garland not getting any innings for 9 days because everything I've ever heard about a sinkerballer is that it's not a good thing for them to be too strong otherwise they don't get quite the bite as they would if the were in a normal rotation.
  9. QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 12:37 PM) Welcome to Soxtalk! Like the photoshop...Needless to say my name has generated an infinite number of permutations on the derogative "moron." I saw that fella at the Democratic Underground who use "Moran" as a "moron" substitute.
  10. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 12:10 PM) Wait, let me get out my haterade: It will be 6/1/2 cicadian life cycles before your blog blows up. 7/1/2 before you land that big sportswriter gig... Not bad man, it just seems kinda in bad form to advertise your blog with your 1st post. Welcom to the fold though. Probably true... But then, being a rightwing nut, I have little in the way of manners. However, it seemed the best way to introduce myself...or would you rather I post a long screed on how when I was just a baby sittin' on my pappy's knee, I watched the Big Klu clout two homers in one World Series game. I also saw 90,000 people at the LA Coliseum to watch a baseball game, something not seen before or since. I was 5 years old that last time my beloveds had a legitimate shot at a World Championship and I'm gonna milk it for all its worth.
  11. "Forty six years is a very long time to go without a home playoff win for most baseball franchises. But given the fact that no Chicago team has won a World Series since 1917, the concept of time for White Sox fans has become a relative thing. We here in the Windy City do not measure our sports disappointments using such archaic and unenlightening concepts like linear time. Rather, the bio-rhythms of the cicada – who return every 7 years – is a more appropriate notion. Hence, when viewing the dearth of playoff successes for the Pale Hose, it sounds much better and is actually more accurate to state that it has been approximately 6 1/2 cicadian life cycles since the White Sox managed a home playoff triumph. Doesn’t sound quite so bad when put that way, huh?..." More at: http://rightwingnuthouse.com/archives/2005...rs-blast-bosox/
