Because you can get identical production from Vaughn for nothing, and start slotting players into positions they actually belong in.

Will Giolito be non-tendered this offseason?
JoeCredeYes replied to ron883's topic in Pale Hose Talk
No logical reason to non-tender him so I'll vote no, however there was really no logical reason to not extend Rodon the QO so I wouldn't put it past this FO. Curious what his arb number will be after this disaster of a season for him. -
GT 8/30: KC @ 'SELL THE' SOX, 7:10, NBCSC
JoeCredeYes replied to CentralChamps21's topic in 2022 Season in Review
It's difficult to imagine a team with a more putrid 5-9 than this. -
Let the record show I posted this before he let a pop up land 5 feet from the plate.

my friend @Bob Sacamano told me Carlos Perez would be fine behind the dish.....
-
Sure, at their lowest now, but by the time he's MLB ready they won't be in the Coliseum and Oakland has an uncanny ability to put a winner on the field regularly. I'd take them over the White Sox right now as a 19 year old.
-
The Sox have scored the same number of runs as the 48-75 Cincinnati Reds.

Watch Hahn will trade AV and bring Jose back at 2-$50M.
-
Right, so he's no longer capable of being our biggest offensive threat, therefore we should stop paying and playing him like he is. Vaughn has more RBIs in 22 less games, I'm just sick of Jose getting a free pass, if he hits at team average with RISP this year this team is in 1st place.
-
So the guy being paid to be your biggest "run producer" and "team leader" being 3rd in MLB in singles, hitting .227 with RISP, and ranked 38th in slugging percentage isn't a top 10 problem? We seem to only hold Menechino accountable for those issues. Say goodbye at season's end, slot Eloy and Vaughn where they belong at DH and 1B and the rest of those top 10 problems start to resolve themselves.
-
Hoping he comes back strong early next year in a contract year, and is then dealt for prospects.
-
If he actually does come back and the Sox are somehow still in this thing, I wonder if they push him back to the pen for the rest of the season.

White Sox vs. Royals 8/22 1:10CDT (Kopech vs. Lynch)
JoeCredeYes replied to Greg Hibbard's topic in 2022 Season in Review
Not surprising, he hyperextends his left knee every time he lands, was only a matter of time before he tore something. -
Sox record with Anderson, Vaughn, Jimenez, Robert starting…
JoeCredeYes replied to Greg Hibbard's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think you're counting 162 for this year when there's only been 116 played thus far, so that puts him at 79.7%. In comparison, Yoan Moncada has played 82.9% of games over that same period of time. -

TA has played 2 full seasons out of the last 5, not sure why he doesn't get the injury prone label he deserves. -
Tim Anderson out 4-6 weeks with torn ligament in his hand
JoeCredeYes replied to chw42's topic in Pale Hose Talk
And Tim Anderson is what exactly? He's looking more and more like a 2 tool player that doesn't have a position. -
and actually letting Stott figure it out in the bigs

He's always going to be one of those "what if" guys for me. Never really able to put a full season of healthy playing time together and nearing 31 already. I was very excited for him to get some ABs this year after the power flashes last year, but TLR would rather play Leury.

Didi Gregorius just released as well, having a putrid season, however still a better OPS than Legend.
