  1. Dang 3 months of ache? I had it in December, body ache went away after a few days, however here we are 5 months later and I still can't really smell anything and sweet things taste like raw cigar tobacco, it's been a blast.
  2. Haha I just made a similar post in the Ground Ball thread.
  3. I feel like VV was really showing some confidence last start, he'd be an ideal swingman if he can keep that up with that pitch mix he had working once Lynn returns. Here's to hoping it doesn't all get crushed tonight....
  4. Agree 100% Huge gap between the Sox and the super teams. But I can also see how a return to career norms for Jose and Yaz with a healthy Eloy, AV, YoYo and maybe a TDL bat or two and we stack up solidly against those squads. How do we acquire Josh Bell without hurting Jose's feelings?
  5. It's honestly unbelievable how bad those two have been, factor in injuries and we're still .500, too much talent on this team to give up hope just yet.
  6. Very unpopular opinion around these parts for anybody not named Ron, but I've been saying for 2 years now that Jose isn't an everyday player and cannot hold the team hostage any longer demanding every day ABs and 1B play. His defense this year and been fucking abysmal and Vaughn should start getting the everyday 1B starts next week. Jose DHs vs LHP and nothing else. If he's still this bad when Eloy is back it's time to say goodbye to old Jose or demand he take a bench role. That being said, hope the dude turns it around here in short order .
  7. Hanging slider and misses it by a foot, DFA this dude when Eloy is back.
  8. Hate when that happens, I kept all these stubs inside my baseball card albums for years and found them a while back, again in the Mom's basement. Thankfully she's been good about not tossing any of my childhood stuff, tons of Star Wars, WWF and Starting Lineup figures down there in a bin somewhere.
  9. Hahaha, I also remember being at the MJ first pitch/retirement game and driving home laying down in the back seat of our red Ford Escort station wagon when the news came on the radio and I began silently balling my eyes out in the hopes my Dad didn’t hear me crying over it. Found the tix.
  10. Have a few distinct memories from that day, we sat near the Yankees bullpen and my Dad was yelling down at their pitching coach (Billy Connors) by first name trying to acquire a ball for me, my brain couldn't comprehend that my Dad just knew his name so I thought they knew each other and couldn't understand why Billy was ignoring him. The other is my Dad explaining to me that what we just saw was likely never going to happen again. Think I actually still have the ticket stub somewhere around here.
  11. My 6 year old self was at this game, still have the bat giveaway from the game in my Mom's basement.
  12. Anderson + Kelley/Dalquist for Verdugo and a year of Bogaerts, who says no?
  13. the second Jason said “cue the closing music” this baby was ovah
  14. There are many folks still fooled by Nick Madrigal, many of them inhabit this very board.
  15. Excited to get home from work, crack a beer and re-watch on the Angels broadcast. Nothing better to me than hearing other booths fawn over Cease and Kopech.
  16. Def, he just needs to be able to control the stuff and it doesn't matter.
  17. The problem is he does show it on fastballs, looked a little better today but it's still creeping above the glove a hair.
  18. Really bummed Vaughn has had to sit 3 straight right when he was getting hot.
  19. So then you're suggesting multiple-time all-stars, a former MVP, silver sluggers, etc., just all forgot how to hit? I don't buy that.
  20. So when a team goes from 6th most pitches seen per AB to 4th least pitches seen per AB year over year it's entirely on the players? I don't buy it.
  21. I'll take the stats over whatever the guy trying to save his own ass has to say all day.
