  1. Would like to see Sheets in for Jose today. Jose is 1 for his last 15 with 7 K's after unnecessarily sliding into home during a 9-1 ballgame on Sunday and hurting himself.
  2. I used to work for Apple corporate, could not agree more.
  3. Haha yep, was it KWill that said "he's built like an Under Armor mannequin?"
  4. For sure, I give Bo the nod on arm strength though.
  5. I couldn't be more excited about watching Robert's growth. His eye/discipline has improved tenfold since he first came up. Yesterday's HR AB was a prime example of understanding how pitchers are approaching him, and making them pay dearly when they don't execute. I feel like the league thinks you can get him to roll over stuff up and away, nah dude punishes anything you dare to leave up. He's gotta be the most exciting Sox player in my life since Frank and has the chance to be something truly special.
  6. MLB trade values has him at a 2.5. Would love if they could get a lefty pen piece with some/any MLB experience such as this deal from one of the teams you mentioned.
  7. This was the one where Farmio exclaimed "get off the ledge!!!" wasn't it?
  8. Yeah, I'd always just eat the palmer house and pistachio. The sherbet was originally intended to be a pallet cleanser before you dive into the other flavors, but I feel like it's grown over the years and is there's way too much of it in the pics they posted.
  9. Man, I worked at the Orland Park Rainbow Cone spot off 143rd and LaGrange that no longer exists (same owner as the OG Beverly location) and and their Taste of Chicago booth for 3 summers. Would make enough scooping ice cream during 14 hours days at the Taste to have beer money for the year at highly prestigious Northern Illinois University. There's an art to slapping those cones together, bringing back some fond memories with that offering.
  10. I'd give J.A. Happ a buzz. Local guy, finished stronger than he started last year, could add him to the pen as a lefty arm once Lynn returns if he's not getting shelled. Also, I once played beer pong with him and he was a nice dude. Unless you can coax Miller out of retirement I don't see many better options that don't involve a trade.
  11. oooof, you leave it out and up and Luisbob is gonna hurt ya
  12. Yeah, I've been pretty anti Conforto all off season, but I assumed some position players of value would be added. The good money after bad on Kimbrel is just inexcusable and now you've got to pray he starts hot and doesn't get hurt so he has a market, just a complete cluster F.
  13. Huge grain of salt/FWIW, but have a good buddy in Chicago who claims there's a Sox scout at his gym that he got to talking to, basically confirmed all our greatest fears, scouts are all furious about the offseason, zero offers for Kimbrel, his $ is preventing any payroll add, Harrison was their 4th choice. Good times.
  14. I know it's an extremely small sample size, but dude put up a HR every 14.55 ABs last year, which is good enough for 9th best in history. On a team lacking power from the left side, I just want to see what he can do in a full year with regular ABs.
  15. Think it would be these 2 and one more guy to get it done.
  16. and I love Chapman when healthy, but dude ain't replacing the offensive production from Semien.
  17. Don't tell their fans that, they've convinced themselves they're head and shoulders better than last year. Have seen guys online saying "Ray was only good because of our pitching coach." The highest fan rate thru 1000 innings in MLB history musta been a fluke.
  18. I mean, I come here daily to be amongst like minded curmudgeons, I expect nothing less and find it comforting to know I'm not alone.
  19. Yeah yeah we've been down this before but then you b**** and moan about a 1 year $5M deal for a plug in 2B, so who you crappin?
  20. His career splits aren't much better, which has been my beef the entire time. Sure, he'd be much better than our current RF options, but the potential cost for a dude that is abysmal vs LHP is worrisome. Career Splits: RHP: .265/.371/.502 LHP: .227/.315/.380 for comparison, Leury Garcia career LHP splits: .287/.315/.380
  21. Can dude just learn to run at 85% every now and then? I love the effort, but it'd be nice to have him available all year.
  22. It's Garrett's fault for being so good right away. Whatever he turns out to be I hate to deal him this young unless a bonafide ace with a better track record than Montas comes back.
