  1. Yeah, I've been pretty anti Conforto all off season, but I assumed some position players of value would be added. The good money after bad on Kimbrel is just inexcusable and now you've got to pray he starts hot and doesn't get hurt so he has a market, just a complete cluster F.
  2. Huge grain of salt/FWIW, but have a good buddy in Chicago who claims there's a Sox scout at his gym that he got to talking to, basically confirmed all our greatest fears, scouts are all furious about the offseason, zero offers for Kimbrel, his $ is preventing any payroll add, Harrison was their 4th choice. Good times.
  3. I know it's an extremely small sample size, but dude put up a HR every 14.55 ABs last year, which is good enough for 9th best in history. On a team lacking power from the left side, I just want to see what he can do in a full year with regular ABs.
  4. Think it would be these 2 and one more guy to get it done.
  5. and I love Chapman when healthy, but dude ain't replacing the offensive production from Semien.
  6. Don't tell their fans that, they've convinced themselves they're head and shoulders better than last year. Have seen guys online saying "Ray was only good because of our pitching coach." The highest fan rate thru 1000 innings in MLB history musta been a fluke.
  7. I mean, I come here daily to be amongst like minded curmudgeons, I expect nothing less and find it comforting to know I'm not alone.
  8. Yeah yeah we've been down this before but then you b**** and moan about a 1 year $5M deal for a plug in 2B, so who you crappin?
  9. His career splits aren't much better, which has been my beef the entire time. Sure, he'd be much better than our current RF options, but the potential cost for a dude that is abysmal vs LHP is worrisome. Career Splits: RHP: .265/.371/.502 LHP: .227/.315/.380 for comparison, Leury Garcia career LHP splits: .287/.315/.380
  10. Can dude just learn to run at 85% every now and then? I love the effort, but it'd be nice to have him available all year.
  11. It's Garrett's fault for being so good right away. Whatever he turns out to be I hate to deal him this young unless a bonafide ace with a better track record than Montas comes back.
  12. Sale didn't start until his age 23 season, Crochet will turn 23 in June, I don't think it's unreasonable to give him another year in the pen before deciding what he is.
  13. Maybe the league realizes he's a platoon guy that can't hit lefties.
  14. Anything to keep me from accepting that our team is on the field!
  15. They can just slide Carson Fulmer in until everyone is healthy ?
  16. Yeah it seems way out there, the "what the Sox were willing to eat and west coast team" just got my gears churning.
  17. Buehler, Kershaw, Urias, Heaney, Gonsolin, Dustin May. Bauer if he ever returns, they don't need Price.
  18. Yeah I'm just speculating based on the rumors and what LA would be interested in doing, but only way I could see them giving up a Bellinger type for Kimbrel.
  19. Or do we have to take back David Price to even it out? Their bullpen slots down much better with Treinen and Brusdar at SU with Kimbrel closing.
  20. Sure, just that Lewis would strike me as the most available of the group. Unless they're concerned about Kelenic's less than stellar start.
