  1. Why is everyone so hot on dealing Crochet? He's got Carlos Rodon/Robbie Ray type stuff and still learning how to pitch.
  2. Obviously he's better, I just don't see Conforto as being a realistic option for JR and the Sox.
  3. Big Marte fan, don't want any part of what Castellanos will get and dealing with his glove entering his age 30 season. Also doesn't help your right handed problem.
  4. And Conforto wasn't? By all means, list these excellent UFA RFs you speak of....
  5. Totally agree, but + defense, left handed power hitting RFs don't exactly grow on trees. Joc might be their best option.
  6. Sure, ideally he has one more year in AA/AAA, but we all know JR isn't ponying up for a multi year RF like Conforto with Yoelkis and Colas potentially waiting in the wings. Hence get a guy like Joc that can play every day until Yoelkis is ready. It's not ideal, but barring a big payroll increase I'm not expecting big money spent on RF.
  7. My potentially realistic offseason plan/2022 lineup... Arb: Marshall - No Goodwin - No Gio - Yes Engel - No Lopez - Yes Fry - Yes Cordero - Yes FA (internal): Kimbrel - Pick up option - trade for young arms Cesar - He Gawn Leury - re-sign team friendly deal, but better not start a fucking playoff game in the OF ever again Rodon - Declines QO Tepera - Sign Roster/FA (external): C - Yaz & sign a veteran backup with + defense --- Barnhart is my ideal choice, but if too much $ at C, Roberto Perez/Maldonato/Vogt/Chirinos/Avila are options, trade Collins for lotto ticket(s) 1B/DH - Jose/Sheets/Vaughn/Yaz - Sheets gets real playing time, Jose gets regular days off/is no longer allowed to call his own shots/held accountable when not performing. i.e. hitting 6-7 when slumping 2B - Sign Semien SS - TA7 3B - YoYo and pray the power returns LF/DH - Eloy/Vaughn/Sheets/Cespedes CF - Pantera RF - Sign Joc, platoon with Cespedes 1. Lynn 2. Giolito 3. Cease 4. Kopech 5. Keuchel/Crochet starts season in AAA to stretch out and eventually takes over for Keuchel to avoid tripping vesting option LR:Reylo MR: Cordero/Foster MR: Burr/Ruiz MR: Fry/FA LHP MR: Tepera SU: sign Corey Knebel SU: Bummer CL: Hendriks
  8. The fact that Tim didn't play baseball until he was 16-17 really comes out sometimes.
  9. The coaching staff only scored 6 combined runs in 3 games? C'mon man, clearly outmatched.
  10. This organization needs to stop treating Jose and Eloy like they're Ruth and Gehrig. Jose gets regular off days and lineup movement when slumping and Eloy doesn't get to own a mitt until he learns to lay off sliders low and away.
  11. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/32381326/alds-game-4-houston-astros-chicago-white-sox-postponed-tuesday McCullers starting tomorrow officially
  12. Damn really? I've tried that and it still tells me to connect to my home WiFi, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense cause ESPN and a bunch of other channels are working fine.
  13. Going to be out of town Friday-Sunday myself, looks like you can watch MLB Network on your MLB app by clicking More, MLB Network, then logging in with your pay cable provider login details to confirm your package includes MLB network. All fine and well, except I have Comcast/Xfinity cable and the app doesn't support it. Looks like I'll either be signing up for a free trial of Youtube TV or stealing a buddies Youtube TV login credentials. My favorite part of this is I should just be able to login to watch live TV on the Xfinity app, but the majority of channels don't work unless connected to your home Wifi, like wtf is the point then?
  14. 2008 I was an immature 24 year old entry level lease administrator in Chicago anxiously awaiting the black out game. Today I'm an immature 37 year old lease administration manager in San Francisco that has somehow managed to hang on to the black towel from that game 13 years ago through several moves.
  15. Yeah that was my point, Cease control issues still concern me to start a playoff game, but I agree with you that my hypothetical statement probably isn't accurate and PTATC has reminded me of Kopech's inning limit.
  16. While I still think the Sox have a solid chance at winning a post-season series, it is incredibly difficult to win the World Series, so assuming they do fall short of that goal, I will focus my ire on the mid-season moves. The biggest need to me going in was a 2B and a left-handed power-hitting corner outfielder that can actually field. Hahn whiffed on all 3 deals and it doesn't appear any of the 3 bring anything positive to the clubhouse. My only other major gripe was the handling of Kopech. It was clear long enough ago that Rodon was going to be a huge question mark for the playoffs and that Dallas was not going to make the roster. When ReyLo started getting starts, they should have been going to Kopech in order to get him ready for playoff starts. They'll be thinking twice about that decision for years should a lack of a 3rd viable playoff starter (I actually think Cease can do it, but would prefer he not be put in that position) be the glaring reason they get bounced in the playoffs two years in a row.
  17. Eloy can't catch up to back to back 90 mph meatballs center cut, I'll go back to work now.
  18. Too bad his brain never fully healed, it's the source of most of his problems.
  19. Who cares, DFA him already. He's not a major league baseball player.
  20. I voted Rodon, but the fact that there are so many good options on this list tells me the real answer is Tony LaRussa.
