  1. Jimmy had RR induced TJS and was out all last year.
  2. Pretty intrigued with Cutch, walked a ton last year.
  3. Agreed, body language was never good, something just felt off the entire time, never looked comfortable.
  4. The Cesar decline was something, I believe the only above .500 team he's ever played for was the 2020 Tribe prior to this year, I wonder if the pressure made him crumble.
  5. If anything was learned from watching Houston and Atlanta it's that depth and matchups matter. I can't wrap my head around a Conforto or Castellanos investment into RF with Cespedes and Colas potential RF in 2023 and beyond knowing how the Sox operate. If they do, it's clear indication that they don't view Cespedes as a viable every day player. That being said, what's it going to take for the Royals to trade us Whit? Per MLB Trade Values rankings a package of Burger, Dalquist and Kath gets it done. Trade for Whit, sign Starling Marte to play RF with Vaughn and Sheets mixing in. Marte has never played RF but seems athletic enough to make an easy transition and gives you a legit CF option to spell Robert and keep his legs fresh and can also play a plus LF. Whit gives you even more flexibility with his RF versatility and gives a decent replacement for Nick's contact ability. If Whit isn't possible, sign Chris Taylor to play 2B every day, get a huge lead in the central, deal for the best LHH OF available at the trade deadline and make a run.
  6. I am down with this approach and think it's the right move. Dominate the central in the first half then add whatever pieces at the deadline are needed to make a DEEP run.
  7. Anybody thinking Lance Lynn is going to start taking physical fitness seriously in his age 35 season after signing the final contract of his career is fucking nuts.
  8. I know Jose is going nowhere, and I love Jose. I just want him to accept less playing time and the DH role more often, moving forward.
  9. It removes the logjam at 1B/DH and allows us to field proper major league caliber outfielders.
  10. I dunno man, you don't give up 22 year old lefties with his stuff unless you get big time talent back.
  11. Sure solve a lot of these problems by removing Jose Abreu from the mix...
  12. Why is everyone so hot on dealing Crochet? He's got Carlos Rodon/Robbie Ray type stuff and still learning how to pitch.
  13. Obviously he's better, I just don't see Conforto as being a realistic option for JR and the Sox.
  14. Big Marte fan, don't want any part of what Castellanos will get and dealing with his glove entering his age 30 season. Also doesn't help your right handed problem.
  15. And Conforto wasn't? By all means, list these excellent UFA RFs you speak of....
  16. Totally agree, but + defense, left handed power hitting RFs don't exactly grow on trees. Joc might be their best option.
  17. Sure, ideally he has one more year in AA/AAA, but we all know JR isn't ponying up for a multi year RF like Conforto with Yoelkis and Colas potentially waiting in the wings. Hence get a guy like Joc that can play every day until Yoelkis is ready. It's not ideal, but barring a big payroll increase I'm not expecting big money spent on RF.
  18. My potentially realistic offseason plan/2022 lineup... Arb: Marshall - No Goodwin - No Gio - Yes Engel - No Lopez - Yes Fry - Yes Cordero - Yes FA (internal): Kimbrel - Pick up option - trade for young arms Cesar - He Gawn Leury - re-sign team friendly deal, but better not start a fucking playoff game in the OF ever again Rodon - Declines QO Tepera - Sign Roster/FA (external): C - Yaz & sign a veteran backup with + defense --- Barnhart is my ideal choice, but if too much $ at C, Roberto Perez/Maldonato/Vogt/Chirinos/Avila are options, trade Collins for lotto ticket(s) 1B/DH - Jose/Sheets/Vaughn/Yaz - Sheets gets real playing time, Jose gets regular days off/is no longer allowed to call his own shots/held accountable when not performing. i.e. hitting 6-7 when slumping 2B - Sign Semien SS - TA7 3B - YoYo and pray the power returns LF/DH - Eloy/Vaughn/Sheets/Cespedes CF - Pantera RF - Sign Joc, platoon with Cespedes 1. Lynn 2. Giolito 3. Cease 4. Kopech 5. Keuchel/Crochet starts season in AAA to stretch out and eventually takes over for Keuchel to avoid tripping vesting option LR:Reylo MR: Cordero/Foster MR: Burr/Ruiz MR: Fry/FA LHP MR: Tepera SU: sign Corey Knebel SU: Bummer CL: Hendriks
  19. The fact that Tim didn't play baseball until he was 16-17 really comes out sometimes.
  20. The coaching staff only scored 6 combined runs in 3 games? C'mon man, clearly outmatched.
