  1. Big game ..yes Must win ..no, not even close
  2. Ortiz is great, but he has a huge advantage with Manny batting behind him.
  3. Our pitching is a big problem, but it goes deeper than Hawk insisting we have to pitch inside. Everytime a pitcher struggles his answer is to pitch inside. I don't think it's quite that simple.
  4. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 01:45 PM) That looks like a Javier Vazquez line. ZING! Now go get 'em, Javy. If nothing else Vaz is consistent. I think in his last 8 starts he's gone 6 innings ..give or take an out. td
  5. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:21 AM) I would have laughed so hard had Mabry got suspended. I don't know think it's fair. P.J. should not have a fine, and Barrett's 10 game is too light. With his history (almost starting a fight a few days before against S.D. ) I think he should have got 20 games. What's the difference between his punch and the Kermit Washington punch against Rudy T? Starting a fight with punches (not the usual "shove") should be way more.
  6. I have it on Tivo, and can make a DVD. When I do that they aren't always compatible with all DVD players ..especially older ones. tfdrake@sbcglobal.net
  7. With a rainout looming, and it looked that way all week it is all the more puzzling why Ozzie & Kenny didn't just bump up everybody in the rotation. I would think every starter would rather have 4 days rest rather than 5 or 6.
  8. Haeger would not start Wednesday. Even is someone was hurt, with Monday off, everyone would just move up a day and the Sox wouldn't have to decide until Saturday.
  9. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) Buerhle's pitching. It will go quickly. And with the new Indianapolis time zone ..it's 10:05. I have to wake up in the middle of the night and check the Tivo.
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 08:36 AM) I'll say this to the extreme optimists, just as quick as I will the extreme pessimists... Its early. You can't expect 6-7 guys to be hitting .300+, as well as you can't expect Anderson, Pods, Uribe to hit less than the Medoza line, while Garland, Politte, and Garcia sport near double digit ERAs. Its a long season and things will equalize out. I'm not sure 101 wins is out of reach. Has there ever been a better 5 man rotation ..from top to bottom? The key (as always) is to stay heathy.
  11. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 12:24 PM) I think some people tend to overexagerate the general crappiness of our radio team. We are simply used to such a high standard with Rooney, that our present team, (which is probably average compared to most MLB teams) is considerably worse than before. Just remember, it could always be worse... we could be listening to Ron Santo I'll take Ron Santo. I could live with Farmer, but when Singleton does play by play it's painful. And the worse part is when it's a close game in the ninth and they are trying to talk about some disco bar in the 80's or something. I'm an old man, I used to listen to Bob Elson with my radio hidden under my pillow. At least now we usually have t.v. I guess tonight I'll watch game cast on ESPN and imagine my own play by play.
  12. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Apr 11, 2006 -> 05:32 PM) Ohh, just the clinchers from the playoffs. I've got the whole Sox post season on tape, so I guess I won't get it. I think it's worth it. You can easily go to whatever inning you to watch without searching.
  13. To put ALL of the blame on the Score and pretend the Sox didn't have input is a little naive. Boyer should have seen this train wreck coming.
