Rios benched where he belongs! De Aza in CF..., YES!

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 08:14 PM) plenty of time to reach doublefigures. I raise you. He hits into a double play before the night is over.

And it's only the end of the 3rd inning?

QUOTE (Pale Sox @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 02:45 AM) That's true....forgot about Alexei. I just love it when Alexei steps in the box and leans back into a reclining position with the bat resting on his shoulder and takes the first pitch. He doesn't even pretend to watch it. I think it was in the Sunday loss to the Cubs at Wrigley, he did that with the bases jammed. Then he waved at two consecutive sliders to go down in 3 pitches for the third out. WTF? Sometimes these guys are just stealing money. It's easy to see a difference between a team like the Twins and the Sox and it shows in the Wins / Losses. Twins are serious and here to take care of business and focus on getting the job done. They actually have discipline at the plate and execute. The blame has to be on Sox management. This should not be tolerated and heads must roll. It was nice to go to a KC Cougars game recently and see players busting their ass and actually trying. This is not to rip on core guys like AJ, MB & JP. It's obvious that Pauly is very concerned and is bothered by the current state of affairs. Some of these other guys are just, well...., Alex Rios.

QUOTE (soxfan-kwman @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 10:19 AM) Look at his numbers, he has no consistency what so ever. He hits home runs in the first half in some years and not in other years. His average before all star break is better in the first half some years and better in the second half in some years. One year his average is the same in the first half as the second half. He is not a thinker, at all. After reading the trib article about how he doesn't want to hear what anybody has to say, I can see why Walker can't do anything with him. Rios may be off to a bad first half, but at least he can actually make contact. Rios batting low .214 is bad, but he can still get the average up to .270's. On top of not wanting to change things up urging wise, he is really frustrated and his confidence is shot. They need to send him to the minors so that he can see the ball being hit in a live game, otherwise he'll be down to .100 by the end of the summer. Maybe even lower. At this point the consistent striking out is the only thing he can do. Maybe intentionally walking Mauer for now on would be the best thing to combat the twins. Maybe while the Twins are in town Dunn and Rios can study Mauer's at bats to see how it's done, as they obviosly don't have a clue. Oh that's right, I heard Dunn doesn't put in any extra work. How pathetic.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 11:18 PM) Unless you quoted the wrong poster, I don't read any of that in Caulfield's post. He is right you know. It is nearly impossible to dump those salaries without divesting the minors and sending big piles of cash.. See Paint It Black's post. Anyway, I suppose we need to swallow hard and accept it. If the twins biatch slap us again in this series it is over. CSN put up a statistic today which had the Cubs and the Sox as the number one and number two worst records against division opponents. If Dunn and a couple of others don't snap out of this it's time to think about football. If the Twins pass us in the standings it is over for 2011. We might as well punt. William's luck has run out. The Manny Ramirez deal was it for me.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 11:04 PM) Back it down and stop the insults. Sorry, guess I should be ok with being called a "derp newbie" even though I've been here 3 years longer than the poster who made that insult and crapped all over this thread. Just wonderful. Can we get back to Dunn being the worst I've ever seen at the MLB level?
-
Paint It Black - "The recent Adam Dunn derp posts from the newbies are about as equal to tea party comments you see on news articles. Not creative, no substance, and lot's of exclamation points." The FAIL is strong with this post. Been a Sox fan for 38 years pal. As far as the Tea Party is concerned, not interested in your libtard comments either. Have a nice day.

Adam DUNNG needs to shave his legs and wear a skirt next time he goes to the plate. .163 average is still trending lower. This guy is a nightmare and he is killing my team. And Alex "the loaf" Rios hitting .214!!!! Blow this thing up!

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ May 1, 2011 -> 08:41 PM) Yep. Clean house...Ozzie and the whole frickin' coaching staff, for starters. Then, start getting rid of Pena, Rios (whatever it takes), etc., etc. I only disagree on a few points. Don Cooper stays. Harold Baines stays. Cox stays. KW and the rest have to go. Hope for Change in 2011.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ May 1, 2011 -> 12:07 PM) Then don't watch. No, you don't have to put up with being a White Sox fan. Go be a Giants fan. Then be a fan of who ever wins the World Series this year too. I don't watch. Too pathetic. This team is a death march at the plate. I go watch the local JUCO team instead. They play the game with energy. Plus, they can hit, throw and catch the ball too! Highest payroll in the division and last place... HERE WE COME. Wow, worst record (most losses) in the majors too. Woooooo Hoooooooo!

Same ol' same ol' once again..... Will Greg Walker ever be fired or do I have to put up with this crap the rest of my life? Slumps on the White Sox include 90% of the line up. They go on longer and deeper than any other team. They happen over and over, year after year. This team is an embarassment. When will people start being held accountable for the crap that is the White Sox the last X number of years? I done with this team for the year. They SUCK hard. They SUCK long. They SUCK all too often. And another thing, they can't catch a damn baseball either. And don't get me started on K. Williams, luckiest SOB ever and he jacked with the line up of a WS Championship team. That's it for now. SoxFan72

When do Sox fans get to give Kenny Williams the ultimatum??

My previous thread about Gregg Walker's employment was locked..... So here is my positive thread topic to follow on the comment about how Don Cooper has escaped my scrutiny. To this I can say the following...... John Danks Gavin Floyd Matt Thornton Bobby Jenks All top line pitchers reclaimed from the scrap heap vs. the agonizing pain that comes from watching White Sox hitting over the last SEVERAL years. And for Coop, I've personally met him. He has coached my son. I've talked with him numerous times over the last several years. He let me try on his world series ring. I believe in his philosophy, his ability to coach and the man himself. Greg Walker? Not so much... Thank you and that is all.
-
Seriously..... Look at the batting averages. This team is a joke.
-
No Obama for Opener......, Thank you GOD!

BaRf! Mr. Reinsdorf, please keep politics away from my beloved White Sox. Especially ANYTHING to do with or related to the cess pool of disgrace that is Illinois politics. IMO this lowers baseball another notch, although not that it's worse than the steriods scandal. Throwing out the first pitch is fine. That's sufficient and should be the end of it and move on. Thank you.

Previously when I’ve criticized Walker I get slammed on this site. So here I go again. Enough of this guy. Our hitting approach has sucked for years. The all or nothing hitting approach only works when the sluggers are hot. The rest of the time anemia sets in. Walker has got to go. Of course, KW is to blame for this mess. He’s the boss. But I give KW a pass since our sluggers got hot at the right time in ’05! However, I am more disappointed in KW for several moves dating back to: - Letting Tony G. get away – sure he booted that ball in Boston but I’m a huge fan of Tony. - Thome for Rowand is a bust. Rowand is a hard-nosed CF and hotter than s**t right now. We haven’t had a complete out field since. Come to think of it, we haven’t made the playoffs since. - Gload to KC is the dumbest thing I ever heard of. Trading the best contact hitter on the club and a LH hitter to boot. Bet Ozzie wishes he had Ross now. KC must be laughing their arse off.

USA TODAY BASEBALL WEEKLY TRADE SUGGESTION

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Nov 11, 2006 -> 10:11 PM) A-rod sucks. Screw AROD! He is the epitomy of what is wrong with modern baseball. Head case and he makes about U$20,000,000 too much each year X 10! Let the Cubs & Lou have him. His head shrink fees must be amazing. Why can't ALL baseball fans see & understand how and why these human knuckheads are making too much money, especially this guy. Case in point: Aramis Ramirez takes pop ups off the head right in the Cub logo and can't find it in his heart to hustle to first base! Won't play out his contract? Where the hell was he for the first 3 months last season. Let's see what GM sucker signs that piece of crap! ARAM is a piece of sh**. Joe Crede = bad back & best 3rd baseman in baseball! -
QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 07:59 PM) I'm pulling for Frank as well, but this is a non story. WE WON THE WORLD SERIES WITHOUT HIM!!! I'm tired of people saying how bad it would look if we miss the playoffs and the A's make it. That is so far off. It looks bad that we don't make the playoffs on ourselves. Actually, last year Frank did help the Sox get to the playoffs. His team contribution was significant in the games that he did play. I was at the park for a couple of those games when Frank bopped in a few runs last year. He definitely helped us win quite of few games which helped build the lead in the division. In 2005, Frank had 105 AB, 12 HR & 26 RBIs. Geez, a dinger every ten plate appearances! Even though there's all the stuff about Frank & the club house antics. Still, I like Frank & miss Frank. I'll take Frank and AROW over Jim Thome & our outfield disaster this year. Nothing from Jim Thome, a class act - but he sure has picked a bad time to slump for our team. Looks more and more like we will be watching Frank & the A's on TV in October.

QUOTE(Reddy @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 04:37 PM) pssst Steff's not a sir... Oooops
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 03:37 PM) For facts sake, the Sox did not make any offer to Frank. You are correct sir. They offered cash & a one way ticket to anywhere. Wasn't it $3M? Guess I should have said that I don't think Frank would've accepted the same offer as he got from the A's if it would've come from the Sox (wasn't it a heavily incentivized league minimum?). Thanks

Just thinking out loud here - Rowand was a big part of the "heart" of this team last year. I would've rather had Rowand and Thomas this year rather than the joke that has become of the center field by commitee situation and plus Thome's inconsistent hitting against lefties, even though Jim is a class act. Also, got to remember that Frank wasn't going to take the offer that he got coming from the Sox. Wasn't the RMAC move justified as being a possible backup for JC anyway? - Not the bandaid for centerfield to get better hitting in the lineup. Then #13 is whining about BA needing more at bats to the media?! Please! All year we've seen threads and comments on how this team doesn't want it bad enough. And all the other teams want it more than us, no heart, etc,....... I like BA enough and his upside potential is great. However, I thought KW was spending big $ to try to repeat. AROW & the other 2 amigos (along w/ JC & AJ) were the heart of this team, now AROW is gone - miss him. Hope we still make it to October again. If nothing else it should be interesting to watch. PS: When is AROW a free agent?

QUOTE(chiguy79 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 04:35 PM) I am putting every loss on Cora, he make me sick and he should be kicked out of the stadium if he tries to show up again... Pods also makes me sick, he strikes out looking, swings half assed at first pitch with runners on third with 1 out, that is crap, where is willie harris? Greg Walker And for my last Leslie Nielson called strike....., it goes to Joe Cora. Sucked as a Sox player, and as a 3rd base coach..... HE GONE! What a dumb ass! Enough is enough already! E da ba in da air we Pauly ro ta de turd we gotta ga to go ho ?!?! What a piece of dung! KW - Pls FIRE CORA NOW BEFORE IT COSTS US THE SEASON? Harold Baines for President of 3rd base!

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 04:14 PM) f***ing joke. How do you expect to win a playoff race when you lose to a team that is 1 for their last 22 on the road? Greg Walker QUOTE(Balance @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 04:15 PM) Our offense just goes into hibernation against the worst pitching! Greg Walker QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 04:15 PM) The swings these players are taking in walkoff situations is absolutely embarrassing. Greg Walker QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 04:17 PM) f***ing pathetic effort all around. You have a lead going into the 8th inning against the Devil Rays, you HAVE to finish off that game. You have to. Dionner (sp?) f***ing Navarro? Are you kidding me? Sox hitters in the ninth and tenth had three times where we got ahead in the count. Lugo fell behind Pierzynski 3-0. McClung -- of the 110 hits in 90 IP ilk, not to mention a s***load of walks -- falls behind Mackowiak 3-0 and Podsednik 2-0. How many hits? None. McClung is horses***, and he mows us down 1-2-3, not even letting our MVP get a chance to swing the bat. This is one terrible loss. Greg Walker QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 04:17 PM) Pull and lift. Someone needs to tell Paulie Pull only that right field I repeat is not out. Crappy no nothing pitchers that will get rocked their next start dominate us, because our guys are thinking Dan Ryan. Nice job O. You really have done your job. The best offense in baseball the first half, then poof we fell in love with the dong and we have been inconsistant since. Greg Walker QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 04:18 PM) Pods, plain and simple. He has looked terrible at the plate lately. You can't play the matchup game in that situation. BA should have had an opportunity to hit and Mac should have pinch hit for Pods Greg Walker QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 04:19 PM) A great day to capitalize on Detroit and they throw it away. Thank you offense GREAT job. Greg Walker
