    Ozzie

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ May 18, 2007 -> 09:51 AM) Too bad Ozzie swore like 5 times, what an idiot OH NOES
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ May 14, 2007 -> 12:44 PM) How does this have anything to do with any language barrier? He flat out said that Uribe doesn't make for a good #2 hitter because he strikes out too much. I don't see how that can be misinterpreted in any language. I can honestly say that I didn't read that article in order to find something to criticize Ozzie about. He's not even at the top of my Sox s*** list right now. I was just shocked at what I was reading. Actually he flat out said "I don't think he's a second hitter," Guillen said. "[saturday] he impressed me more because he took pitches and was patient. I don't know how long that patience will last. This kid strikes out a lot." notice the punctuation mark that looks like a square because I made it as huge as possible.
  3. I don't know if anybody has heard of this, but I think he can only been on the postseason roster if he was on the team roster on august 31.

    Juan Uribe

oh god, how did we get to both Brian Anderson and Freddy Garcia in this thread? Anyone with a brain knows Freddy aint that good and Brian Anderson ain't that good yet, what the f*** do they have to do with Juan Uribe who should be good now. Seriously, this is like making a royce clayton thread and having people talk about kenny lofton and terry mullholland. save it.
  5. and then the "someone told me it was over" comercial comes on. fitting
  6. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 10:24 PM) is there anyone left in soxdom who wouldnt deal bmac and others to get crawford now? probably, sadly.

    Juan Uribe

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 11:49 PM) On Uribe, would you rather a SS with the same defensive ability who could hit for less power, but hit for a higher average, because I think that would fit better into our lineup. We've got enough power hitters already with the likes of Dye, Kong and Thome, and when you have guys like BA, Pods etc who when they go into slumps, the lineup doesn't look as deep. Like I said earlier in this thread, it depends. If we're expecting our 9 hitter to hit higher than 235 and have a slugging percentage that doesn't indicate that he's hitting a single each time, then I guess it'd be important for our 8 hitter to get on base more. As it is, with a 225-230 hitter with little power batting 9th, I'll take the 8 hitter with the higher isolated power considering he has jacks*** hitting behind him(including the leadoff spot at this point). Holy s***, I just made an argument for Uribe without mentioning defense. edit: to be completely honest, Uribe is disappointing me more than any other player on this team, pitching staff included. the last quarter of the year last year(playoffs included), he was great, his approach was great, he probably drew more walks in the last month or two of the season than any other player on the team, he seemed like a player who got it when no one else did. I was expecting this year to be a career year for him by far, he's essentially 'regressed' to the same exact player he was overall last year offensively with worse discipline. That bothers me, but f*** yeah I'd give him another season. He's somewhat expendable, but not nearly as expendable as everyone in the universe is making him out to be.

    Juan Uribe

Difference being we wouldn't have to give up anything to keep Uribe. Which SS in our farm system exactly fits your description? You want to replace him for the sake of replacing him with a similar player that has less power? If we were leading the division this talk about Uribe being anything short than great defensively wouldn't exist either. He got robbed of a gold glove last year, and this year his defensive numbers are better. To me it's not cut and dry whether Uribe should be on this team next year, a lot of that's going to be contingent on what other moves the team makes. What's the price going to be for slight overall improvement?
  9. Shut the f*** up, Mariotti. Sincerely, the universe
  10. QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 11:05 AM) The rule itself seems shady. Why should it matter? Unless they were intentional walks, he had pitches to swing at.
  11. what? there's baseball being played? and here I am watching national geographic like a poor schmuck.
  12. Everyone stop bickering and join hands to watch the awesome force that is Ross Gload.

  14. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 09:34 PM) Im sorry, what did I just see? Paulie strike out or Haegar warming up?
  15. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 09:26 PM) Great inning but Pods just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Meh. Obligatory Lisa Dergan joke.
  16. QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 09:25 PM) Bench his ass. WTF was that??? He stopped??? Unreal, if he hadn't uh jogged the last half of that steal attempt we would have another run just now.
