McDaniel/ESPN rank Sox system #2 behind LAD
MnSoxFan replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Wonder if a grandson or even a great grandson of Masanori Murikami, he was with Giants in mid 60s. Had him on a rookie baseball card back then. But in the 1960s, Masanori Murakami of the Giants opened new doors with his appearance against the New York Mets. A crowd of 40,524 gave Murakami a standing ovation as he walked to the Shea Stadium pitcher's mound on Sept. 1, 1964, becoming the first Japanese player to appear in a big league game. -
Doubt it. Phil is from Kentucky and Nick is from Chatham, Ill and went to Eastern Illinois. Whoops I stand corrected, he is it appears.

Thorpe gives up 3 in the 1st, pulled. Hope there is not an injury involved
-
Barons still have 5 starters as Mena was sent back down from AAA. Mena, Thompson, Cannon, Eder and Bush
-
Since the minors, except AAA, do not start until Thurs, I think, the rosters likely will not be updated until Wednesday night would be my guess,

Bummer on Tatum. Playing CF, batting leadoff, has 4 SBs already, hitting the ball. Dang it.
-
Desert Dogs lost Monday in 1st game 5-3, some reliever from Dodgers gave up 5 in the 9th. Tatum played and contributed, Ramsey threw a scoreless 8th. Desert Dogs won Tuesday 11-9. Tatum led off and went 2-5 with a run and RBI and a BB. Castillo played 2B and went 3-5 with 2 runs and 2 RBI, Hackenberg went 0-2 with 2 BB and 1 RBI. Sammy Peralta went 1.2 innings, gave up a solo homer among 4 hits and struck out 2. Solesky starts todays game

Veras is holding his own even in AA. He only had one year in Rookie League last year. Could be a nice hitter down the road. 20 total HRs this year now.
-
I believe the A leagues are now done.
-
Bennett with his 11th homer in a nice game for him in the 13-9 win for the DSL Sox 11 homers, an over .300 batting average and an OBP of over .400. Good season for the 20 year old Venezuelan

Mendick was their safety valve, he got hurt
-
Frankeli Arias with a 5 inning perfect game as DSL Sox win 2-0 in shortened game. This kid had a great July with 2.66 ERA and now this in August, he has come a long way since June. 19 year old lefty who signed in March of 22. https://www.milb.com/player/frankeli-arias-802087?stats=gamelogs-r-pitching-mlb

Norge Vera to WS. Several draftees played for ACL (Baldwin and Burke in the OF), Logan at 3B, Sprinkle at SS
-
Hard to get a win when he was on such a low pitch count. He went 4 innings and even 4+ innings and left with the lead a couple times. He could have at least a couple wins. Better to limit his innings though
-
A ton it seems. I know one time there were 20 active pitchers on their roster. They did release Glowicki and Carter in past couple weeks, but at least 4-6 more they could release without a whimper from anyone. Maybe more
-
2 NDFAs have played. Scolaro for Kanny and Beutel today for the ACL Sox
-
Two pitchers pitched for ACL Sox today. Hammersberg (20th rounder) and Beutel (NDFA) One has pitched for Kannapolis already, Jonah Scolaro, a LP who was also a NDFA
-
I see the ACL White Sox play at 9pm (ET)
-
Not quite a full slate, no DSL today.
-
I think we had a 6-0 day earlier this year not long after the DSL and ACL leagues started. I remember putting out a post on it.
-
Damn, a 6-0 day for the minors
-
Appears Edwin Peralta pitched for the DSL team. Played 1B mostly last year, got hit in relief today.
-
Appears Edwin Peralta did the same for the DSL team. Played 1B mostly last year, got hit in relief today.
