  1. What's going on with Montgomery?
  2. Whose brilliant idea was it to get rid of that? They should have kept it forever and keep adding new memories each year.
  3. I didn't explore the baseball savant site well enough. I didn't know that they had month by month data. If I would have known, I would have used it. I had no idea that this data was available to the public.
  4. I'm not concerned about him based on his velocity alone, I'm concerned about how hard his delivery may be on his shoulder. Giolito is still elite in whiff rate so that's fine. Usually velocity decline is a precursor to injury. A lot of my nitpicking of Giolito and Moncada isn't because I don't like them, It's because I want them to do well and be the best they can be. All criticism isn't bad criticism.
  5. Lynn won't be back until next month anyway, so we have 3 starts to figure it out. I think DK gets DFA if/when Cueto gets called up. If they choose to release Cueto, then we have a problem. Also, because of what happened Lynn is probably going to be on a pitch count his first few starts.
  6. Not so fast about keeping Cueto in the rotation when Lynn comes back. Give VV more rope. I'm telling you guys, the stuff is there. If he can pitch to around a 4.00 ERA or better for the rest of the month I'd ride with him over Cueto. More upside.
  7. Keppinger. Keuchel is worth DFAing just so they don't risk his option vesting if he turns it around or they need him to eat innings due to injury. Have Lambert or some other schmuck get lit up.
  8. Moncada does best against RHP in the 2 spot. I think you bat him 2nd against RHP and 7th against LHP.
  9. Where are you getting this data? If I could have gotten the month by month that would have been great. Link please?
  10. It did improve. In 2017 Gio's velocity was way down, he was throwing about where he was right now. In 2018, he was back up to the mid 90s but didn't have any control. In 2019 it had an increase and that mostly held in 2020-21. Gio's average FB was 94.2 in 2019, 94.0 in 2020 and 93.8 in 2021. This year there has been a huge drop, averaging 92.9 so far.
  11. I think a lot of the Sheets hate is because Tony plays him over Vaughn and in RF. Nothing to do with him, all about his usage.
  12. Gavin Sheets has 237 PA going into today in 70 games? Your point is? 70 games is enough of a sample size but 31 isn't?
  13. If they hid him in LF it wouldn't be as big of a deal. I actually think Sheets is moving better than Vaughn this year when last year it was the opposite. However, neither Sheets nor Vaughn should be playing the OF.
  14. No, my argument is that Sheets only has ~110 more MLB ABs than Burger so idk why people can be so definite about Sheets while being so lax about Burger. Either both suck or both have room to improve.
  15. Burger can defend ok at 3B but also shouldn't be out there vs RHP. Since there are more RHP than LHP, you can get where I'm going with this. Going into this game, Sheets has 212 MLB AB and Burger has 93.
  16. What Sheets has 300 AB? You can say the same about him. What makes Sheets what he is and not Burger?
  17. If Pollock continues to suck they're stuck with him for another season. Instead, they could have just declined Kimbrel's option and signed Pederson.
  18. Disagree. If you want to call them both Palka, be my guest.
  19. Burger is 26, he kind of is what he is. Same with Sheets. Both have shown the ability to hit for power but the LH bat vs RHP is more needed. Maybe re-evaluate in June if Gavin is still scuffling.
  20. I'd keep Gavin over Burger just for handedness reasons. He shouldn't be out there vs LHP.
