  1. Thread title says it all. He hasn't hit a HR since the 4 in a row. He's swinging with his arms only. His once elite EV is now slightly better than Madrigal. He's clearly not right. They're playing the Royals and Tigers again before the gauntlet to end the season. Get him healthy for the stretch run and the playoffs. He may not be right at all this year, but you gotta at least try.
  2. I'm willing to give him a mulligan because of covid and the nagging leg injuries. Covid is a real injury. Hopefully he can be close to the guy he was in 2019 in 2021. I just hope there's no long lasting effects to him from the rona.
  3. We're concerned about yet another Twins team occupying space in the psyche of yet another promising group of young Sox players. We've seen this movie before and I don't want to buy another ticket.
  4. I knew Lopez sucked, I knew Rodon was unreliable and both Dunning and Cease are iffy. I still don't care. Ride with what you have and improve next year. I really don't think Lance Lynn makes the Sox a WS contender this year. The AL is a gauntlet.
  5. Reminds me a lot of Nick Punto if Punto could actually hit for average. Just a PITA for pitchers. He's not bad, I just wouldn't have spent a top 20 pick on him, let alone a top 5 pick.
  6. lol..... I'm just shitting on Madrigal. It's intentional hyperbole. He's just not my type of player. That being said he's different and I hope he has a career like Placido Polanco. idk if he has as much power as Polanco did though. Like I said, Madrigal is probably somewhere on the Eckstein-Placido Polanco spectrum. Do we still use green text for sarcasm? I think people should start doing that again.
  7. He was in a slump and I was frustrated. I need to watch myself for that shit. I stand by the Madrigal stuff though.
  8. Whoever made the Eckstein comp for Madrigal probably isn't that far off: https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/e/eckstda01.shtml Eckstein on the low end, Placido Polanco on the high end for Madrigal. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/p/polanpl01.shtml
  9. Podsednik. He hit 12 HR in a season with Milwaukee. EDIT: It was 12, not 14.
  10. He'll hit for more average than Yolmer but otherwise they're similar. Yolmer plays better D, Madrigal makes more contact. I'm not happy right now they wasted a top 5 pick on a rich man's Yolmer Sanchez.
  11. You guys are never going to let me forget that, are you? That was more overrating Delmon Young than anything else. I thought Young was better than he actually was. I thought Young was a .250-260/25 HR guy with a .300-310 OBP when I said that.
  12. I just didn't want Singer, but I wasn't crazy about Madrigal. Harold's Leg Lift and I are on the same page with regard to scouting.
  13. His ceiling is ridiculously low. Probably shouldn't have even been a first round pick.
  14. In fairness, when they traded for him, he was throwing 97-99 with a yellowhammer of a curveball.
  15. Of course he is, and Eloy is only 1 full season and 32 games into his career. Both guys show signs of plate discipline but still swing at too many junk pitches. Hopefully they learn to lay off the bullshit.
