Those teams also have an analytics dept and farm system worth a damn, and they invest heavily in both.
I still believe David Samson because it completely fits the MO of the org.
My whole problem with Jerry is that he won't pick a damn lane. If you want to have a limit on individual player contracts, spending on analytics and scouting is a must. They have a 194M payroll this year, and I wouldn't mind if it was $170M if they took that extra $25M and invested it properly into baseball ops.
As an owner, you can't have a limit on player contracts and be the most frugal org in the game in scouting, player development, and analytics.
