I'm thinking of bringing Nova or someone like him with a rubber arm as a 6th starter. Did you forget about Kopech? Giolito, Kopech, Cease and Lopez are 4. They'll have Dunning in the minors and Rodon coming back after the ASB. Bringing Nova or someone like him along with signing Strasburg, Wheeler or Bumgarner should complete the rotation and it would make them 7 deep in the spring and 8 deep when Rodon returns. Injuries killed them this year. They're not as far away as you think. Bringing in another veteran like they did with Santana isn't a bad idea either if they need emergency starts from the Charlotte rotation.

It was more the them trying to be nice about it by saying "inconsistent" and they specifically said that they had him play the 2nd team D on Friday and was still "inconsistent" -

It isn't like the info was coming from rando people on twitter. This was coming from people like Campbell and Biggs. I was hearing their clips on the Score, reading their tweets, etc. These were pretty credible sources, not twitter randos. -

I don't understand why people are so quick to throw Mitch under the bus, but Mayfield is the next great QB. Both have shown a lot, I get Mitch has a year more experience in the NFL but in terms of actual playing time post HS Mitch is more inexperienced. Because of his relative inexperience, Trubisky was always going to take 3-4 seasons to develop. -

Interesting. I was just going by what I was hearing on the radio and from beat writers. Who knows? -

Hell no. Obviously you don't know anything from camp. If Mitch takes a step forward this year, they have a good chance to win the whole damn thing. 8 wins is the absolute floor for this team unless they get decimated by injuries to key players, which is always a possibility in the NFL. -
This is a good approach.

Yep. They need some bats too.
-
Lolololol dude. They need one high end SP, a couple guys for Charlotte who can fill in in the event of injury, a High leverage RHP for the pen, and a long reliever.
-
Fulmer's out of options. He's reinvented himself and I'd like to give him a shot. I'm a little pissed he got hurt Friday evening.
-
Dude, those guys don't take up .5 of a roster spot so you're going about it horribly. They're going to have 12 or 13 pitchers. You have 5 relievers and 4starters already. Herrera also takes up a spot(unfortunately) so really you have the following in the rotation next year: Giolito Cease Kopech Lopez And the following in the bullpen: Colome Bummer Fry Herrera Marshall (Maybe Fulmer) That's 9 pitchers. They only have 3-4 spots they have to fill.

With you here Ron. It took a while for most of us to come around, but he's done. We know your Abreu threads up until this season were a schtick. We're all not friends here unless we bust each other's balls. -

Yeah some bad luck involved, but it's disappointing Lopez couldn't get through 6. -

Yeah new school would have Robert leading off and Moncada hitting 2nd. -

I really don't like the pitch selection here. -

Not missing a ton of bats today but lots of weak contact. Both are effective. I'd say he looks ok. -

Patience. Moncada looked awful in 2018 too. He'll be ok. The talent is still there. Eloy was starting to get it going before he got hurt. Now he's starting from a completely different point. 2019 looks like an adjustment season for Eloy. Hahn and Kenny should be taking notes (wink wink) -

If I were a Phillies fan I'd be losing my shit over this series. Kapler, bad baserunning, not scoring vs. Detwiler, etc. -

It's just sad at this point. He's clearly a shell of his former self. They really can't bring him back. -

Awesome to see. Lopez getting his shit together really makes life easier for the Sox this offseason. They'd only need one pitcher then, and they could bring back/in someone like Nova for insurance. -

Do the numbers since the ASB back the results for Lopez? I'm too lazy to look it up right now. -

I'm to the point where velocity without spin data is useless. They must be used in tandem. One without the other means nothing. -

That is an important piece of information. Now you can continue discussing how Abreu is over the hill now. Velocity without spin rate data is useless at this point.
