  1. Maybe it's just that Sox catchers are so much worse at pitch framing than the other 29 teams.
  2. Keep tanking. It's ok. They might get a top college arm out of it with ace potential.
  3. So far, you're right but the hitters react differently to him in this stint. His stuff deteriorated over the years and now it's starting to come back. He's intriguing at least now.
  4. The whole coaching staff needs to be launched into the sun. I liked Cooper for years but he's a relic now. The game has passed him by.
  5. Everyone deserves their share of blame. The injuries suck though. I wonder what would have happened to Hansen had he stayed healthy in 2018. His 2017 was incredibly exciting and I was more excited about him than even Giolito, Kopech or Cease on January 31st 2018.
  6. More rookie treatment for Eloy. Ya just gotta take your lumps, kid.
  7. It's just enough to make you wonder if Ruiz can be something one day. There's no need to crap on Fulmer right now, as he actually looked like a Major league reliever yesterday. I know it's hard to do because of all of the crap over the last 3 seasons but people need to give him a clean slate. He looks like a completely different pitcher.
  8. God I hope Jerry opens his wallet this offseason. The future is so damn bright they just need the finishing touches.
  9. Ok another question: Let's assume Vaughn's bat is as special as everyone thinks it is, and he rakes at every level. When does he make his MLB debut? Late August 2020 or do they wait on him until 4/15/21?
  10. I think there is a slight possibility that the velocity is fine but he's really wild. I agree with you guys that if Kopech looks good to go in ST that he starts in Chicago but if they have a reasonable excuse to send him down they will.
  11. What if the velo is fine but the command is atrocious? That tends to happen to guys just back from TJS.
  12. What do you guys think they do with Kopech? Try to get the year back by sending him to Charlotte until 6/1 or start him in the Majors? This is the most interesting decision of them all.
  13. What about Madrigal? He coming with la Pantera?
  14. I know, but the players that matter are still doing ok even if they've taking a small step backward. Just the ebbs and flows of the season. Moncada wasn't going to hit .380 the remainder of the season like he did in June and Giolito wasn't going to have an ERA under 1.50 like he did for 7 weeks for the remainder either. That still doesn't mean that they aren't stars in the making. Their improvement is real and the metrics back it up. Lopez is taking a step forward after a rough 1st half and Cease looks the part even if the results aren't there yet. Anderson has no plate discipline whatsoever so he's always going to be somewhat dependent on BABIP luck. We don't know what McCann's true talent is after his adjustments but I'd imagine it is a .260-.275 hitter with 12-15 HR and a .430 SLG, which is more than fine from a catcher.
  15. Good for Robert, and I'm a bit bummed that Madrigal is a unicorn because baseball would be a better game with more players like him.
  16. The Sox have been an absloute brutal watch over the last 4-5 weeks.
  17. Guys is Madrigal a unicorn or are there more hitters out there similar to him? Obviously they'd strike out more. What I mean by this is guys with well above average speed, gap power, good to great defense and a 60 hit tool that strike out 60 or fewer times per 700 PA with a >8% BB rate.
