  1. Anyone out of the Chicago area having issues with the feed on mlb.tv?
  2. C'mon, now you're just being ridiculous.
  3. Holy fuck I thought I'd never see one again.
  4. Dylan Covey was fun bad today. So bad all you can do is laugh.
  5. 2 batters in, 2-0 Twins. Is there any live arm they can throw out there instead of Covey? I've had enough of him.
  6. Collins hit .234 in high A, and hasn't hit over .240 except for in low A and the bandbox that is Charlotte/AAA this year. (He didn't even hit above .260 in either case) What in the ever loving world makes people think he's ever going to make enough contact to be an MLB contributor? Also, RE: Madrigal, I was concerned about his power with wood bats last year, but I had no idea he had a wrist injury at Oregon St. Ever since that healed up he's answered all of my questions about his game other than the "Making outs just to avoid strikeouts" thing. Based on his minor league stats I don't think that is his game, but I have to see him in the Majors first. That is the only question I have completely unanswered by Madrigal. He's a really good prospect and should be a contributor for a long time.
  7. I think that Basabe and Adolfo are the only OF the Sox have with a Right Fielder's arm. Rutherford could probably be passable.
  8. I know that it is South Park. It was a mini joke.
  9. I've thought he sucks for for 18 months and I believe him to be a non-prospect. He shouldn't be taking at bats from actual major league players. I'd rather Reed get the ABs than Collins. Collins flat out sucks. I dont know how anyone who hits .234 in A+ could possibly be considered an actual prospect. That guy's lack of contact would be exploited at the MLB level, and he was lost at the plate based on the fact that he had 14 K in 26 AB. Zack Collins is not a prospect.
  10. I want to believe you but Mike Trout plays in the AL.
  11. That quote was misconstrued. I talked about TW's alignment being off with the putter. He made the fix that before his round Friday and the rest is history. With regard to the Sox, Reed is really bad, Collins is worse. Like choosing between a giant douche and a turd sandwich....I heard that somewhere before.
  12. I'm not quite there yet, but I'm getting close to being ready to eat crow on Madrigal. Gotta see what he does in the bigs because I know he'll rake in Charlotte. That being said, players like Madrigal projects to be are criminally underrated in modern baseball.
  13. Yeah, I'm like Musto on HF with Mitchell or Teply......lol. it is a schtick...sort of. You'll know what I'm talking about, you can explain it to others if you want.
  14. 1 is more likely. Anyone with a brain knows Collins isn't a major leaguer. If they can pawn him off on someone for a useful MLB piece by all means they should do it. Repeat after me people: Collins is no better than Reed or Castillo.
  15. Collins went 2-26. Palka got sent down after going 1-30. Do you think Palka should get more ABs? Palka had a 35% K rate when he got sent down the first time, Collins was at 53%. There is no reason to believe that either are or will be MLB contributors, ever. It wouldn't shock me if Collins never made it to the Majors again.
  16. Collins sucks dude. Neither player matters in the end. Collins was extremely overmatched in his limited stint with the big club. He was 2-26. Palka got sent down after going 1-30. That is almost as bad. If he put up 2 more 0-4 games would that have satisfied you? Palka didn't strike out at a 54% clip either. Two sides of the same coin. If Collins looks this bad a 24 I doubt he ever sticks in the majors.
  17. The Sox should absolutely put in a claim. He's a huge upgrade over Sanchez and Rondon and puts Yolmer back in the utility IF position where he belongs.
  18. Hahahaha. That is wonderful. You know who or He who shall not be named. We should just refer to that guy playing short for SD like that.
  19. Unless they have a starting rotation of 5 legit aces, a lineup 1-9 of players that could make the ASG in any given year, that all play above average defense, and a bullpen that very rarely blows a lead, people are always going to have something to complain about. Also, if the Sox don't win 100+ games every year, people are going to complain. There are some people with unrealistic expectations that can never be pleased. They're miserable fucks who don't deserve your time and energy. They all know who they are. Every bit of progress just raises the bar for what is and isn't acceptable to them. They're always moving the goalposts until they get so high that it is impossible to reach. Nobody is allowed to have a slump, or a bad start/outing, let alone a bad season. These are the last people in the world I'd want to be my boss, and to those people, ask yourself if you'd want your boss to treat you like that at work.
  20. Having players on T100 lists helps you win championships, whether you keep the player or us him as a trade chip. The only way to build a sustainable winner is to keep churning MLB quality talent out of your system on an perrenial basis.
  21. Sale is more of the fringe case for me. He's way too inconsistent. He's dominant for a year or two amd then surrounds it with 2-3 years of disappointment. He's only had two truly exceptional seasons in his career(2014 and 2017)
  22. This. The sad reality is the Sox have waaaaay too many hitters that profile as 1B/DH. There is no reason to block them.
  23. That being said, Fulmer has had 3 separate 2 week looks and sucked, and Collins had a 3 week look and had 2 hits, looking completely overmatched in the process. He was struggling to even make contact the majority of his PA. In his AB, he had a 53.8 K%. Kind of tells you all you need to know.
