  1. I think they're giving Cordell as much of a look as they can until Jay is activated off the IL. They're evaluating who they're going to send to AAA when Jay returns.
  2. I agree wholeheartedly with this post, but what Hahn says is all we know.
  3. He said that they never considered a rebuild until they realized what they traded for Shields. They asked themselves why they did it. It caused them to re-examine their methods and led to the decision to change course in 2017. In that sense, if they don't trade Tatis they probably never trade Sale/Q/Eaton. It caused them to exit the perpetual win now mode they had been in for 15 years.
  4. Couple seeing eye singles, now Sanchez is up
  5. They're hitting Lopez hard this inning. What happened to the curveball?
  6. Wtf are you doing Castillo took a strike away from Lopez
  7. If Lopez can get going we might have something here. Nice 1st inning.
  8. Why didn't they DH him? They should DH him tomorrow.
  9. I think the Bulls and Pelicans are going to work something out around Lavine for Ball+. What the plus is, I have no idea. LaVar is gonna orchestrate a trade out of NO.
  10. Neither do I, it completely depends on whether they want to salary dump him or not.
  11. So would I. If Strasburg opts in I'd explore a deal for him in the offseason, pending Washington missing the playoffs by a fair margin again. It probably wouldn't cost that much because of his injury history and the $100M on his deal. I'd prefer to get him on the 4/100 rather than having to give him an extra year on the FA market and give up the 2nd round pick, but I think he'd be a good fit for a rotation stabilizer. he's good for 130-180 IP each year, even with the injuries.
  12. Hahn said that if they don't make the Tatis deal, they probably stay the course with Sale/Q/Eaton in 2017. He said that the Tatis trade is what directly lead to the rebuild happening in the first place.
  13. Would you trade for Strasburg if all it cost was something like Rutherford/Adolfo+ a lotto ticket from the AZL/DSL? Know that you're risking being on the hook for 4/100 or him opting out at the end of the season? Strasburg is a really interesting idea, pending Washington getting back into the race.
  14. The thread was about long term pitching acquisitions at the 2019 TDL.
  15. I don't think so. Have you seen the year he's having? If all you'd have to do is take his contract, I'd be on that yesterday. You don't get it, you'd have him for the remainder of the 2019 season and that is it if he opts out. If the cost was minimal, I'd do it regardless.
  16. He has 4/100 left and will be 31 next year. he has an opt out after this season. It is arguable if he uses it, because he's having a good season and I think he could get the Sale(5/150) deal if he opts out. You'd have to be sure he was opting in to trade him, or be willing to tear up his deal and give him an extra year such as 5/125. Should he opt out, he'd be on my offseason wish list. If he's going to opt in, sure, trade for him. If not, wait until this offseason and get him for free.
  17. Yeah, but if he doesn't make it into the lineup tomorrow, there is an off day Monday so he gets an extra day of rest. Maybe they should DH him tomorrow.
  18. I think the Sox should look into trading for a SP. Who are some long term targets that could be available at the TDL or this offseason?
  19. Probably going to miss the series, that is fine.
  20. There is a reason he repeated it, and they say that A+ to AA is the biggest jump in the minors. He was only there in July and August after the futures game. Out of all of the OF not named Robert, Basabe looks the most promising by far.
  21. He did well at AA last year and he broke his hand this spring. Hand and wrist injuries kill hitters. This is a lost season for Basabe.
