  1. After seeing Bumgarner's reaction to someone pimping a moonshot off him, I'm not so sure that he's a fit in this clubhouse.
  2. Any XBH? He's only had 10 up to this point so it is something to look at.
  3. At this point, I don't think that anyone from the Sox is getting traded. I just think this is going to be a buyer's market extraordinaire. There's no reason to trade these guys for crap. If there's value, sure. If not, let the team learn how to win.
  4. He'd play 3rd, with Moncada moving back to 2nd or to RF.
  5. From tomorrow through the ASB is their toughest part of the schedule. If they can get through the next 3 weeks at 5 games under .500 or better I like their chances to win 80 games this year.
  6. No, but we'll get a lot of Detroit and they're worse offensively. KC has some guys that can hit. Detroit has an aging Miggy, Castellanos and that's it.
  7. Herrera is gonna be ok guys. He just had a putrid May due to injuries.
  8. Yup. Chalk him being a gascan temporarily up to injury Edit: spoke too soon
  9. He has a chance to be the 2nd best position player in baseball. His peak seasons could be Trout-esque
  10. Giolito always had the stuff, he had mechanical issues that were keeping him from showing it every inning and it was affecting his command. Now that he has those under control you're seeing the stuff play up. With regard to Lopez, I have no idea why he switched from today's pitch mix for the 1st 2 months of this season. It worked so well last August and September idk what he was doing before today.
  11. I agree. I want them both to have the entire offseason to put any work in that they may need to in order to be successful. It's past time to worry about service time considerations, it's time to maximize their window. It starts next season, IMO. Guys who have a chance to contribute should be up as soon as they're ready.
  12. He's turning into a star before our eyes. Both he and Giolito have made massive turnarounds from last season and it is wonderful.
  13. This has looked like a ReyLo game ca. August/September 2018. This is the pitch mix he needs to be throwing for the rest of the season, and this is the pitcher he should be. This guy has a Carlos Carrasco ceiling.
  14. Agreed. 2020 is going to be his coming out party. I'm fine with him sacrificing some patience this year, he can put it all together next year. Moncada hitting .290+ with a .370+ OBP is a 7.5 + win player. Ricky's insistence on Moncada being station to station is baffling.
  15. He's ditched the slider and is going with a cutter and curve. I think that he's using a cutter because it has a different speed and movement profile than his slider.
  16. Moncada is locked in. He's striking out a lot less. I can't wait for the upcoming XBH binge.
  17. He's a much better pitcher with the cutter/curveball combo rather than slider/changeup. Curve/cutter vs rhb and change/cutter vs lhb and he should be fine.
