  1. For that one season, they were great. Frank-Maggs-Konerko were there from 99-03.
  2. No wait 5 was PK and 6 was Caballo
  3. The best 3-4-5 that I remember the Sox having were all RH batters: Hurt, Maggs and Konerko.
  4. I'm almost to the point where I think they should bring him to the big club so he has the entire offseason to work on any adjustments that he may need to. They need to go Twin hunting in 2020.
  5. I don't think that it is out of the question.
  6. If teams offer to pay for HS kids College if they sign, I don't know why more HS kids don't sign right away. If I knew I could go to college for free in a year or two if I sucked, I'd take the Signing bonus money and give it a shot, knowing I had free college as a backup. Why not try to live your dream? I'd imagine academic atrophy for guys that aren't that bright is a consideration.
  7. I think we've pretty much established that Moncada isn't that good at 2B. His bat can carry him there, but he's not that great in the field. Either are an option.
  8. You could, in theory go with Rendon and move Moncada to RF. I'm not a fan of that though, as I don't want to jerk Moncada around in the field. I'd like them to acquire a LH bat to play RF.
  9. Yeah, Hostetler said they offer their HS draftees college tuition if baseball doesn't work for them.
  10. I don't think much of either guy, but I think more of Rutherford than Adolfo for the White Sox. Adolfo is absolutely a better prospect but I don't think that he progresses enough by the time the Sox run out of options due to missed time. He's gonna be a guy who gets waived and has a 5-6 year MLB career starting at 26-27 and ending around 33
  11. That was before we knew that the OF in AA would all take a shit and Moncada was an above average 3B.
  12. I don't think Adolfo is a better prospect because he's injury prone, has lost a ton of development time, and is running low on options. In a vacuum, he is but when you take everything into account, he isn't I wouldn't even go that far to be honest. I give Rutherford a better chance of making the Sox than Adolfo at this point, Rutherford has like a 5% chance and Adolfo is non-zero IMO. I wouldn't count on Adolfo for anything. The most I'd realistically offer is some guy in A+ that is interesting.
  13. I don't even think he'd cost Rutherford. The most I'd offer is Adolfo, but they probably get him for less than that. He's a good stopgap until Rutherford/Gonzalez/Basabe play out.
  14. Honestly, I'm interested in both Bumgarner and Wheeler, should they decide to non-tender Rodon. (I don't think they will but you never know) the rotation next year would then be: Giolito Bumgarner Wheeler/Kopech Kopech/Wheeler Cease You could go to war with that.
  15. I think Madrigal will lead off, and Robert will hit in the middle of the order with Vaughn and Eloy.
  16. Bumgarner isn't declining so much as taking an outdated approach to pitching. The stuff has lost a tick from his early years but it is still more than good enough.
  17. I think that is a safe assumption. I was wondering if they were at 13 or 14 or something like that. There are a lot of bad teams out there.
  18. Is he really that awful? Dammit.
  19. If they sign someone they move to the back end of the 1st round though, correct?
  20. As of today, the Sox aren't even in the top 10, correct? What are the rules with draft compensation? I haven't been paying attention because the Sox have been drafting in the top 10 for the better part of this decade.
  21. While I agree, Santana would have been more of a stopgap while the OF logjam in the minors played out. I agree with you that they need more LH hitters. Collins could be that guy, should he stick at C or DH. Rutherford and Gonzalez are internal options if they could get their shit together at AA. I don't think Walker has the arm to play RF.
  22. RF is the big bugaboo and Hahn is an idiot for not grabbing Domingo Santana this offseason. That is all. The Mariners are in sell mode and if you could get him for lotto ticket types just do it.
  23. I didn't realize that Haniger was having as bad of a season as he is. Domingo Santana is someone I would have targeted this offseason after Avi wasn't brought back and I was semi-furious that the Sox didn't grab him when I saw what the Brewers traded him for .
