  1. Moncada is turning into a vacuum cleaner at 3B. Really impressed with him as a 3rd baseman
  2. What I'm saying is if Trout were drafted by the Pirates, Yankees or Astros, this version of Mike Trout wouldn't exist and he'd be a different player. He'd probably have been an MLB player anywhere, but Mike Trout as a Pirate might be a 4 win player, Mike Trout as a Yankee might be a 6 win player ' and Mike Trout as an Astro might be a 5 win player. It all depends on how the players themselves mesh with the player development staff and the organizational philosophy. Every team has their own different minutiae and those minutiae affect player development outcomes differently.
  3. QFT. I still think Herrera is hurt. If the guy could get healthy there's still a decent reliever in there. Vieira can't be any worse right now, so put Herrera on the shelf.
  4. Btw I'd trade anyone in the minors other than Robert or Cease right now for a long term rotation piece, and that includes Madrigal.
  5. Rutherford looks like he's starting to get going a bit too, but I'll hold off until he stays on the right side of Mendoza.
  6. I'd like to add an OF so that Basabe or any OF that develops becomes a trade chip. I'd like to add 2 arms in case Lopez doesn't pan out, so then Dunning or another pitcher can take his spot.
  7. For 60% of a season? Not sure Uncle Jerry would sign off on that. It's not my money, so if I were Hahn I'd be on the phone with Boras offering $14M for the remainder Monday morning.
  8. Yeah, we're entering phase 2 of the rebuild now , which is supplementing the core. I wish we knew more about Kopech, but I'm fairly confident that he's going to be fine
  9. If it were up to me, I'd non-tender Rodon and use the savings to add Bumgarner and Wheeler. Depending on what happens Monday, my offseason would be: Bumgarner Wheeler Ozuna And either Grandal or some pen arms, pending whether or not the Orioles outsmart themselves. They could probably get those 3 guys for what they would have spent on Machado.
  10. I forgot about @Tampa so if you could delete and add my edit that would be great.
  11. I don't want them to blow their wad on him. I'd rather go after Cole or Bumgarner this offseason.
  12. They have 4 tough series outside of the Twins in the 2nd half, home vs. Houston, @ Tampa, @Philly and @ Oakland. They could absolutely go on a run in September.
  13. Kopech will be back next spring and Rodon next July, should they tender him.
  14. If they make it through the ASB within a few games of .500 they have a shot to make it interesting. Their 2nd half schedule is fairly easy outside of Minnesota.
  15. It's a tough choice. I tend to agree with you. Imagine where the Sox would be had Kopech and Rodon stayed healthy. That said, better now than later.
  16. I'm not sure Colome is going anywhere if Eloy gets going and Cease comes up. At that point they might be looking to add a long term rotation piece at the TDL. The fact that they're winning as many games as they are with a shit rotation is highly encouraging and exciting
  17. If the Sox win tomorrow, I'm fairly confident that they can sweep the homestand with Giolito going Sunday.
