  1. I'm not. I'd rather my team suck and build for the future than be stuck in perpetual mediocrity. Do or do not. There is no try. If I had any faith that this team could win a championship I wouldn't give a shit about anyone in the minors. Players come and go, championship flags fly forever. Imagine if the Sox brass had a real winning attitude. The Sox right now are the 2018-20 Cubs. Tapped out and roster inflexible.
  2. I'd feel differently if I didn't think Houston and the Yankees are on a completely different level. I just don't think they have any realistic, JR approved moves they can make to get there. Even if the Sox make it, they had to scratch and claw for 86 wins.
  3. The worst feeling, at least to me, is making the playoffs without reaching the WS. It's the baseball equivalent of NBA Hell
  4. I disagree. I'd rather not make the playoffs at all than lose.
  5. There's still reason to watch. Moncada is back and maybe Eloy can figure it out. I'm watching like it's 2019 right now. Taking silver linings into 2023. I enjoy baseball even when it's shitty. I'm done being mad about this year.
  6. I've long since given up on that. Maybe next year.
  7. The best thing that could happen is to go 2-4 vs KC/Oakland. Then maybe Hahn stops pretending. It's really a shame they're not buried already.
  8. Does Moncada get the walk??? That was ball 4. Isn't it a dead ball? How is he allowed to throw the runner out?
  9. Yes, I watched that game. Lynn still sucks, and he was still throwing 90-92 mph for a large portion of that game. Just because Cleveland didn't hit him that day, doesn't really mean anything. Giolito has had good starts too.
  10. True, but if the Sox are serious about 2023-24 they need to go get Musgrove this winter.
  11. Neither is Lynn. Kopech has his issues missing bats. Sox SP is only slightly better than Minnesota's.
  12. They've been doing it for 30 years. It drives franchise values up and basically guarantees profitability to every owner. It also breeds stability.
  13. No, it's just greedy owners. The owners don't want a cap either because they don't have a floor they have to spend to, nor is there revenue sharing. Part of what makes the NFL a powerhouse is that they realized early on that league revenue is for everyone.
  14. If you don't care about past successes, then it's beyond time to declare this a lost season.
  15. Hitting ground balls at Coors is a recipe for success- FM
  16. There's no point to the rest of the season.
  17. No, the biggest flaw with MLB compared to other sports is that owners don't care about winning. MLB is the only league without a cap, and most leagues have a floor that is 70% of the cap. If we use the CBT($230M) as a hard cap, then teams would be required to spend $161M on payroll.
  18. Without knowing if that's true or not it's the fastball velo drop.
  19. Who wants him? He's a salary dump at this point.
  20. C'mon, Giolito was good from 2019-2021. He's not the same pitcher this year. There's way too much pretending that Sox players were never good.
