  1. If Colome is a second tier closer he's near the top of that 2nd tier.
  2. Colome has been a pretty damn good closer. The only reason he didn't close last year is he got traded to Seattle and they had Edwin Diaz.
  3. Ok. I think Colome might be more realistic. Even straight up I'd do it and I think it would be a move that would help both teams. The Cubs need a reliable closer, and Colome is that. They wouldn't have to worry about overusing Morrow either.
  4. Jay, Fulmer amd Burr might get it done.
  5. Would anyone else do a deal around Colome and Happ? Obviously the Cubs would have to add, but I think that's a basis for a deal. It would be nice to have someone in the OF with the potential to be decent other than Jimenez. Not to mention that adding Happ would finally kill Engel.
  6. I made a b****ing and moaning thread and it had to get closed because people decided to bring politics into it. I was hoping the same but they hijacked the fuck out of that thread.
  7. No, I think Covey is going to be the cut when Santana goes down. Banuelos is the long man after that.
  8. After his shoulder injuries, he stayed relatively healthy unitil his elbow gave out.
  9. I don't like Collins, but we'll see. He can make up for a .220 ish batting average if he hits 25+ HR and gets on base at a .375+ clip while sticking at C, but if he doesn't stick at C he's probably not an MLB player.
  10. Agreed. He's too talented to be what he was last year forever. It had a lot of the same signs of Dunn's 2011 where he came out of the gate raking and had trouble getting his timing back after an early season injury. Dunn never hit the same again, but he was much older than Moncada.
  11. I corrected that. I looked it up and he's probably going to miss 2-3 weeks at the start of the season. He'll probably be back around April 15-20.
  12. I guess the best case scenario for Collins is to be pre-White Sox Adam Dunn, which is still a useful player. Idk if he has that much power though, but I've heard he might.
  13. Either Tibia or Patella fracture. Judging from where it hit, I'd lean tibia.
  14. Going from Yankee Stadium to Target Field is really going to help Pineda's numbers. I wanted the Sox to sign Pineda to a 2-year contract last year.
  15. I actually looked it up and Lindor is probably only going to miss the first 2-3 weeks, but still their bullpen and offense blow. Would not shock me if the Twins are actually the team that runs away with the division. They have a ton of additions this year and Pineda has looked really good coming of TJS.
  16. Don't forget that Lindor is out until May already. That offense would be god awful without both Lindor and Ramirez.
  17. Anderson just keeps getting better. I can't stand that the dude doesn't walk, but he brings value in every other aspect of the game.
  18. Hold off until we hear the medical report.
  19. Yeah, that's awful. You never want to see that. The look on his face kind of says it all...
  20. Did anyone just see what happened with Jose Ramirez? Holy shit. Looked awful.
  21. Yeah, I think I was thinking of LaHair.
  22. I thought Hoffpauir was there in like 2009-10 and LaHair was Rizzo's placeholder when Theo took over. They already sucked in 2010. Speaking of rebuilds, it would have been nice if the Sox started theirs after the 2009 season. It was sorely needed. They had some valuable pieces to trade. Also, if everything would have worked out the same in that year's draft, the first pick of that rebuild would have been Sale
  23. They haven't added Santana yet? Never mind then.
  24. I'm not sure but I thought it was a 2019 rule.
