  1. -I gave them the benefit of the doubt when they made the decision to rebuild. I gave them a clean slate. That slate has been reversed and I now hold 2013-16 against them as well. They have a long track record of failure. These schmucks make GarPax look semi competent. All they had to do was go to that magic number of $300M and if they struck out, I wouldn't have blamed them. There were multiple valid reasons for Machado to go to SD over the Sox, both baseball reasons and lifestyle reasons. All they had to do was offer 300M guaranteed and they wouldn't have egg on their faces. They failed miserably. As long as it wasn't about money, I could forgive them for striking out.
  2. Well said, Balta. You've nailed it yet again. I'm half between anger and being bummed(I wouldn't call it depressed) because I see the writing on the wall for a 5-10 year death march out of town. The only rational reasoning for their behavior over the last decade is that they're actively trying to alienate the fanbase to the point that nobody sheds a tear when they load up the moving trucks.
  3. I wasn't even going to be mad because deep down I never expected HarpChado. The manner in which they fucked this up is why I was angry. It showed me that nothing had changed since 2016. The same flawed processes/modus operandi remain in place. It is really hard to expect anything but complete and utter failure in this rebuild now. I haven't been this pissed about sports since I was like 12. As time goes on, it will get to depression because I now realize that it is unlikely they made a decent player eval on these guys.
  4. @Look at Ray Ray Run Listen, we're all venting right now. As time goes on, and we get further removed from this skullfuckery, We'll all be a lot more rational. I actually commend you for keeping a level head through out all of the embarrassment, disappointment and anger. There is really no need to argue. We all need to be negative and vent currently. It has been an embarrassing 3 days for the franchise. We're all mad. If you want to be positive, go start a positivity thread. I tried to be positive for a bit and I got shat upon so there is zero reason to do so right now. This too, shall pass. Once OD gets here we'll all be excited for baseball again. Until then, deal with the negativity and don't argue with us. Please let us wallow in our misery. It is therapeutic for everyone currently. We're trying to process the fact that they are, in fact, the same buffoons that they were from 2014-16. We're pissed off because: And we let them off the hook. So please forgive everyone for being irrational for the time being. We'll move on eventually. Please, don't argue because it is like talking to a wall. I'm giving you advice for your own mental health. Peace, Parkman.
  5. Not really. I used to really like Moncada and Giolito and was pretty consistent about it. I used to not really like Lopez as much, but his August and September won me over. Now I don't really like anyone, not because of their talent but because of the organization they play for .
  6. This is what I posted before I found out HOW they fucked up the Machado situation. I always said I wanted to: A) find out what the contract Machado signed was and B) what the Sox offer was. Fail and Fail. They fucked this up so badly I no longer trust them on ANYTHING. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on player evals before this. If they cannot come to the conclusion that a 26 year old Machado is worth $300M they don't deserve any slack on anything. I now think nobody acquired will amount to much. I trust nothing, but I'll watch it play out. Should they get a player or two again I'll chalk it up to blind squirrel/nut. I'm now convinced they'll find a way to make a bust out of even the most bust-proof prospects.
  7. This This This This THIS!!!!! The only decent players they have in the minors were those acquired by trade. Their drafts have been borderline disastrous.
  8. I wasn't pessimistic about the players in the rebuild until I figured out HOW they fucked up the Manny signing. The incompetence and buffoonery was staggering. I will go find what I posted before this all came to light.
  9. Any Tom, Dick or Harry could have traded those guys for a decent haul. I will give him credit for the Quintana deal because I was shocked they landed Eloy for him. I give him a C, but in reality it is a C- Grabbing Luzardo or Soto instead of Giolito in the Eaton deal would have been a good start, even though I still like Giolito. Maybe LG was just too messed up. The Sale deal was light and I will complain about that forever. Devers, Moncada and Kopech would have been an actual fair deal.
  10. He only put up an ERA below 4.00 once. He was Vazquez. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/f/floydga01.shtml
  11. Sale's two years with Boston were better than any single season with the Sox, but I digress.
  12. Floyd was Javy Vazquez part deux. The advanced stats loved him, he actually sucked. Two guys who underperformed their metrics consistently.
  13. Logically I don't disagree. They play for the Sox, therefore they suck.
  14. Floyd was bad and they turned him into a #4/5. Great. I guess I can give them a wee bit of credit for Quintana.
  15. Those guys were in AAA before they even got here. I don't give them credit for any of them. Floyd was below average and Danks was a #3 before he got hurt. Quintana doesn't either. He was up relatively soon after he got signed by the Sox. Blind Squirrel/Nut. The fact is most of those guys spent minimal, if any time in in the Sox minors.
  16. It has nothing to do with the fact they did or didn't sign him. It has more to do with HOW they fucked it up. They have learned absolutely nothing from 2014-16. I have zero faith in their scouting acumen anymore. None. They've proven themselves to be incompetent repeatedly so why the fuck should I believe in their talent evaluation?
  17. They haven't developed an arm since McCarthy and a position player since Crede. Sale doesn't count because he was up 3-4 weeks after he got drafted. He was MLB ready out of the NCAA. Cub fans shouldn't be worried one bit about Eloy and Cease. The Sox will find some way to ruin them.
  18. I don't think any of the Cubs/Astros players were as big of a disaster in their first full season in MLB as Moncada and Giolito were last year. The Sox could have taken an 18 year old Mike Trout and turned him into a bust.
  19. Where was that article about Fulmer having the best spring results of his pro career by doing exactly the opposite things that the Sox told him to?
  20. They started from the best position, and are having the worst results, which should be surprising to nobody. Fool me once, shame on you.. Fool me twice, shame on me. I'm not getting fooled a 2nd time.
  21. I think it it is going to take most hitters a while to get going because this org sucks major ass at developing position players. It really doesn't matter.
  22. If he would have said that that would have told me all I need to know.
  23. It really doesn't matter. By the time some of them develop, if any do, they'll all be a year or two away from FA and they'll be about to walk anyway should they be any good at baseball. Truly a mickey mouse org. At this point, they could trade their entire prospect/young MLB player wad and if any have success I can reasonably say that it wouldn't have happened here.
  24. What he said was a lotta shit, his excuses were a loda shit, and bottom line he was fulla shit.
