  1. Hahn can hide behind the other schmoes in the org. (Jerry, Kenny, Tony) We still don't know how much power he really has. If it is him though, he deserves to be whacked. But really nothing changes until JR/KW are gone.
  2. I hope at the very least they win very few games between now and August 5th. After that, whoever is left can get their shit together for next year.
  3. The Bowman/Jones stuff was worse because Bowman was going to be gone in a few months when that trade was made, and ownership let him do it anyway.
  4. You willing to wait multiple seasons? Until there's new ownership, it's just re-shuffling the deck chairs on the titanic.
  5. I'm at this point. But again, until there's new ownership.........nothing else matters.
  6. Fair enough, but at least so far he's nowhere near the player we thought. He was supposed to be Alvarez with defense. Also Vaughn hasn't shown enough power but it's still early for him too.
  7. Does anyone see Jerry spending up to just below the tax in 2023 if they win, say 78 games this year?
  8. If that's the case, why would they even offer him one? Anyway, I hope people put the non-tender Giolito thing in proper context because we were talking about bad money and how to cut payroll. It is an outside possibility because there is just so much bad money on the books. There aren't a lot of options.
  9. Like I said, I don't think it's a good idea, or even a smart move.....I just fail to see how else they're going to cut payroll.
  10. Watch how hitters react to his pitches. It matters.....a lot. His change goes from a 70 to a 55.
  11. He's not the same pitcher. If you don't understand that, I can't help you. With all three of the SP who had big drops in fastball velo this year, they have to hope that a healthy offseason and a full ST brings the velo back.
  12. They can't. They should either keep him or replace him with a FA.
  13. The fastball decline is more important than his track record. Sorry. If everything was the same with Giolito as from 2019-2021 then I'd agree with you.
  14. Tell me why other teams would be interested in a pitcher whose peripherals are way down, has lost 0.7 mph on his heater and has an ERA over 5, going into his arb 3 year? An absolute best case scenario in a trade is something like Kimbrel for Pollock.
  15. I don't have anything against him. I just struggle to see how they're going to cut payroll other than salary dumping guys or non-tendering them.
  16. He has no value. There would be no difference between trading him and non-tendering Giolito.
  17. I don't think it's a good idea but I'm struggling to see where else they're going to get payroll flexibility.
  18. If that's the case, wave bye-bye to Eloy and/or Giolito.
