  1. I'm not saying an uber prospect, just one that shouldn't have got away. I think Bush is going to end up in the 40-50 range by the end of 2020. He's a HS bat, so he could even be higher than that. I don't think he'll ever get to be Uber Tatis level, but you don't trade away guys with the type of potential Bush showed for 2 year rentals. When I said Tatis part deux I never meant that he'd be a top 3 prospect in the game, just one that will be highly ranked and there would be a ton of b****ing about down the line.
  2. Not the case, Bush actually has a ton of upside, was an absolute steal and was a top 75 draft prospect from last year that nobody thought would sign. If teams knew he would have signed, Bush would have gone in the 1st 3 rounds. Bush is more of a known quantity than Tatis was at the time he got traded for Shields. That is why I'd complain if they traded him. Bush is absolutely not an off the radar prospect. I'd bet he's in the teens on the Sox org list on MLB pipeline when it comes out in 4-5 weeks or so. It would show they've learned nothing from the Tatis fiasco.
  3. That isn't what I said. You're reading into things too much. He absolutely would have a chance to be a top 50 prospect or even top 25 if he sneaks into the T100 by the end of the season, which is what I said btw. As a 20 year old, that is really good. I never said he'd be back end at best, I said he'd be back end by the end of 2019. An uber prospect, in my book, is top ten league wide. Nobody knows that yet. I do think that Bush has a chance to explode in 2019, so I'd rather hold on to him. However, if they're signing Machado, his best use to the Sox would be as a trade chip anyway assuming Machado stays longer than 3 years.
  4. I don't think he's going to become an uber prospect like Tatis is, but I do think that he's going to end up sneaking on the bottom of T100 lists by the end of the year. I have very little faith in their scouting too, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.
  5. All I can say, is that trading Bryce Bush is likely to end up like Tatis part deux. It would prove they have learned nothing from the Tatis fiasco.
  6. It's a shame that after the Jay signing, this thread wasn't named "Mucho Dinero for Machado's Muchachos" Anyway Incarcerated Bob is just putting 2+2 together. Padres as the mystery team makes way too much sense. Purely an educated guess.
  7. I follow a bit still, keep myself as informed as I can while not watching games. I'll watch highlights on NBA TV, listen to Bulls segments on the radio, etc, but I refuse to watch a game until GarPax get whacked. For us Sox fans, football season is the only decent one right now. Hawks/Bulls/Sox---Yeesh.
  8. Repeat after me: Believe nothing until the ink is dry.
  9. I don't even know who CM Punk is, but I'll go with him. I don't think that HarpChado signs until they feel they have to, because their market is so limited. Whether that is February 15th, March 15th, or somewhere in between who knows? I can tell you this though, I don't think either will be signed by the time Pitchers and Catchers report.
  10. We need some news. This thread has just reached Ludicrous Speed.
  11. Jeebus I liked that trade when it happened but then Koch came out of ST throwing 94 and got kilt. By the end of 2003, I was sad I couldn't say You got Foulked anymore when Foulke recorded a save.\ That was a bad trade in retrospect.
  12. Farmio is a horrible PBP guy. I can't wait until they get him the fuck off of the radio team. I don't even consider listening to games on the radio because he's so gawd awful at his job.
  13. Of course he could, but I think the Reward outweighs the risk. How often do position players get beaned nowadays? It really doesn't happen all that often. The only real risk he has is blowing a knee running the bases and that only happens to two or three guys a season. The risk is minimal.
  14. Completely disagree. If his market is actually only the Sox and Phillies, then he could potentially make even more next year on a long-term deal.
  15. It depends on whether or not he wants to bet on himself. There is considerable risk, but it could pay off. It isn't as crazy as you think it is. It would take los cajones grandes, but there is a non-zero chance that he does it.
  16. I don't think the Sox fanbase has the same overall sense of entitlement that the Cubs fanbase does. Sox fans would settle for making the postseason a 4 years in a row given that even making the postseason in consecutive seasons would be a franchise first. It is unrealistic to expect a championship each and every year, even in a competitive window. As long as a team gets 1-2 championships in their window, that should be enough and everything else is gravy. I'm still shocked that the Blackhawks won 3, and game within a goal of winning 4 and 3 in a row. They're on the other side of it now, but I'm surprisingly ok with the losing because of the winning over the previous decade. I don't know how anyone can say they didn't maximize their window.

  18. I'm just out there. I talk about all of the things I like to do, what I'm looking for, and make a brief mention about having autism, mostly because I think it isn't fair not to mention it. Yeah I've emailed a few ladies but no response yet.
  19. I loved it through the end of 2018. We're nearing MLK day and I told everyone nobody was signing until after then. Soxfest will be interesting if there are no major signings league wide between now and then. I used to think Macharper was going to be resolved between SB Sunday and the start of Spring Training. Now, I think it will be resolved sometime in the first week of March.
  20. Chandler was ok, Brand was better. Bad move. Curry was meh. They traded Brad Miller and Ron Artest for a washed up Jalen Rose and Ron Mercer, right before they became good players. That trade was infuriating then and remains so. I forget who they traded Crawford for but I hated that move too. Krause got impatient and traded all of his good players for worse ones and that is why he ultimately got whacked.
  21. This thread is whack. I had to come back to say that. Heh.
