  1. That isn't what I mean by that. I meant a guy who doesn't give away what the offense is doing 80% of the time by his presence on the field. When Cohen is out there, they're passing ~75-80% of the time. When Howard is in there, they're running ~60% of the time. Whether 29 or 24 is in the game, for the most part, makes the Bears offense predictable. They can't have that. What I meant is that they need a back who can carry the load if necessary as a runner AND catch the ball out of the backfield in order to make the offense more unpredictable.
  2. Nope, no argument there. This season, Robinson wasn't that guy until very late in the season. Having another guy who can take the top off of a defense that isn't a smurf would help this offense a ton. I disagree that the Bears don't have any needs, as Howard obviously doesn't fit in Nagy's offense and they need someone who fits better. They need a bellcow back who also fits what Nagy wants to do. (See: Catch the ball out of the backfield) Not to say they should trade Howard, but they should look for his replacement in the draft and let Howard walk at the end of the 2019-20 season.
  3. Robinson in the 2nd half of the season was the same guy. If you don't get that the guy was coming off an ACL, I can't help you. He had a season with 1400 yards and 14 TD with Blake fucking Bortles as his QB. If that doesn't show how talented he is, I can't help you there either. Robinson is really, really good.
  4. You're not getting a receiver better than Robinson in FA. Unless you want to give up more 1st round picks for Antonio Brown, there just isn't one out there. I think Robinson is somewhere in the 8-15 range league wide, so guys better just don't become available.
  5. I don't know what you've been watching, but Robinson has been making big plays deep since mid season. He doesn't have elite speed, but he absolutely is a deep threat. The issue is that Miller is a rookie and Gabriel is a smurf.
  6. Robinson and Alshon are pretty much the same player. Robinson is just younger.
  7. No, not at all. I'm saying that guys like Brown, OBJ, Julio, Hopkins, Those guys are incredibly special and likely HOFers. Those are the 4 best receivers in the NFL. It is like saying if you're not top 5 at your position you aren't starter material. Robinson, DaVante Adams, and players of that ilk are a notch below. I wouldn't put Adams with the other 4 because you don't know how much is Rodgers and how much is him. The HOF WR will put up numbers no matter who their QB is, talk to Larry Fitzgerald about that. The others are more QB dependent but if they have a good QB to throw them the ball they are almost as good.
  8. Those are also probable future HOF guys, should they stay healthy. You don't have to be top 5 at your position to be a #1. This is the same argument you get into in hockey with regard to 1C and 1D. In hockey, they argue if you're not winning Hart/Norris/Richard you're not a #1 anything, and that is way too specific. Those guys are HOFers. You don't have to be a HOF to be a #1 anything.
  9. The only time Brady had anyone close to a #1 or even a #2 was Randy Moss. He won 5 Super Bowls, and lost the one in which he had Moss.
  10. If Robinson isn't a #1, your criteria for a #1 is a receiver who is going to Canton at the end of their career. You can win without HOF at every position. Only notable exception is QB.
  11. Throw out Robinson's games before his 2 missed games from the groin injury. He was coming off an ACL and a nagging groin. He was absolutely explosive the 2nd half of the season and tonight as well. Robinson is a good #1.
  12. It was a pun. There was a Shakespeare play called "Much Ado About Nothing" Machado=>Muchado=>Much Ado
  13. Are you the caretaker of the NotRickHahn twitter account?
  14. The game was different when he came in. Meh. Again, I see a lot of the same tools even if they're used differently. I'm not talking about play style or anything, I'm talking about tools that a QB needs to be successful. I only use Rodgers because he's the only comp I can think of. Trubisky absolutely runs more than Rodgers. I'm not arguing that.
  15. I know he hasn't had the gaudy rushing seasons, but Rodgers absolutely was a threat with his legs. Just because he didn't use it often, doesn't mean it wasn't there.
  16. Yeah me too. A lot of my buddies love Barstool. I can't stand Chief and Carl. The only reason I still follow WSD is because he was nice enough to talk to me for a few innings at a spring game last March.
  17. I thought White should have been cut by the end of September. It's clear he just isn't an NFL WR. He might become a Cordarelle Patterson type, but idk if he has the speed for that anymore.
  18. With regard to being run-first you're right, but that is due to inexperience more than anything. Rodgers in his younger years absolutely was a threat to run and would break off 15-20 yarders when the defense wasn't paying attention. Rodgers was a mobile QB but he didn't use it because you get hurt if you run too much in the NFL. He'd do it just enough to make you gameplan for it, but otherwise was more of a pocket guy. I'd bet he would have had 4-500 rushing seasons if the Packers jettisoned Favre earlier.
  19. Yeah I don't trust any of those guys anymore. I met WSD during ST last year, and he was a pretty chill dude 1-1 but when he's hanging with his bro buddies he becomes a bit of a douche.
  20. I never said he WAS Rodgers, I said he reminds me of a young Rodgers. I just think that the skillset is very similar. Mitch has some footwork issues he needs to get shored up but he flashed the accuracy that Pace was talking about on Draft Day 2017 during the 2nd half today. Mitch is insanely talented. He also is way more inexperienced than any other starter in the NFL in terms of games played since HS. It is going to take longer for the game to slow down, but the fact that he was average this season when you can still tell that the game is moving fast for him is an incredibly encouraging sign. When I compare Rodgers and Trubisky I'm not saying that he is definitely going to win MVPs or anything, but I see a LOT of the traits that all of the HOF QBs have with Mitch. He's probably going to take off a bit later in his career than others. Rodgers got to sit for 3 years, Mitch didn't get that luxury. I honestly don't see this as an incredibly hot take. If it was so obvious that Mahomes was/is better why isn't Mahomes here and Mitch in KC or Cleveland? This is the first full season for both Trubisky and Mahomes and the story of their careers hasn't been written yet. It could be that this season is the best Mahomes will ever have, and the worst Trubisky will ever have. I know Parkey missing a kick was a running joke all week, and yes it was forseeable. Do you really expect a K off the street to be any better?
