Could someone explain why they didn't challenge that play? Cohen was never touched and that should have been a TD. -

I always said that Bowman was bad at everything other than drafting. Go back and read the thread. I also said I was on the fence on him. I wanted to see what happened after Q was canned. The only reason I defended him keeping his job when Q was fired was because I wanted to see what happened with a different coach. Also, they need great talent evaluation more than anything else currently. It doesn't matter, and it doesn't change my opinion that Q had become worse at his job than Bowman was at his. Not to say that either were are good, but that is beside the point. EDIT: 12/9/18 I guess when it boils down to it, I'm ok with them either keeping or firing Bowman. If they don't fire Bowman by the TDL, they should give him AT LEAST until the end of 2020 to fix his mess before whacking him. I will say this...My approval rating of Bowman was significantly higher than Quenneville on 11/6/18. I was fed up with Q. I am indifferent toward Bowman, but absolutely had grown to despise Q's handling of the team. I thank Q for everything, and he was a hell of a coach with the Hawks, but his time had come to move on. I was much more frustrated with Q's coaching than Bowman's team management. Not to say that Bowman was good at it, but I was pissed at Q every time I watched a game and I could understand at the very least Bowman's moves. Q's coaching decisions were just baffling. -

They'll end up at 5 or 6 I bet whether a couple teams jump up in the lottery or they improve a bit. -

Q absolutely needed to go. Bowman does too. The end. All of you Q people remind me of the Bears fans who thought Ditka was untouchable and wanted to bring him back after Jauron was fired. Q is becoming hockey Ditka. His time had come. At this point, I don't give a rat's ass whose fault it was between Q and Bowman. Q is gone, as he deserved to get canned, and now get Bowman the fuck out of his job and get some new eyes in the organization. -

I said this on the day that Q was fired. I am absolutely no longer on the fence. Q needed to go, Bowman needed to go, and the Cup winning core who is lazy and pouting needs to go. Blow it the fuck up and start over. I was hopeful that the team would play better after Q got shitcanned, and that was going to be my determining factor on Bowman. This entire team is a joke and a disgrace, and it is on both Q and Bowman. They both deserve to get whacked. At this point, I'd give it equal blame. I was on the "wait and see" train when Q got fired. My defense of Bowman was only because I thought Q should go first. There is no defending Bowman at this point. -

For all of my b****ing, moaning and whining about how much life sucks for people on the autism spectrum, (myself included) I'm glad that things are starting to get better for us. This young man is an inspiration. https://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2018/11/26/18112369/kent-state-kalin-bennett-autism-ncaa-basketball?fbclid=IwAR3yw480YDSwKPOXENQ4a0yuH9DAwF7204GKcsJ0_-fPrWK5ANM-QKvfKfE -

Sox acquire Alex Colome For Narvaez
Jack Parkman replied to YouCanPutItOnTheBoardYES!'s topic in Pale Hose Talk
I understand that. I wish they would have used Narvaez to gain some long-term pieces as well. I just question whether Colome is a fit for GRF because he's been giving up more HRs lately and he has been walking more batters too, IIRC. -

I agree with this post. Well done. Colome is a good reliever, I just question the fit in GRF. -

I had him in Fantasy baseball I can't count how many times he blew saves by giving up multi run HRs. -

I think Colome in GRF will be a disaster. He's always been prone to the gopher ball. -

I don't mind them trading Narvaez, because I hate his defense. I wish they could have received more. -
The Mets make no sense whatsoever. It sucks to be living in the shadow of the Yankees though. They're doing 2014-16 White Sox shit. I don't think it is a coincidence that the Sox, Mets, and Angels often do things that make no sense. They all feel like they have pressure to compete ASAP with the other team in town a yearly juggernaut. Don't be surprised if the Sox do some things that don't make sense this winter either.

You can't ever get excited with the Bears. You just can't. Every time they look really good, their most important players get injured, and usually long term or long enough to tank the season. Even in 2006, during their last super bowl appearance, they lost Tommie Harris and Mike Brown for the season. Neither player was ever the same. This shit just keeps happening to them. If they didn't have bad luck, they'd have no luck at all. I only remember since Wanne was coach so we'll forget his epic failures. Every decent season since 2000: 2001: Jim Miller separates his shoulder in Q1 of their playoff game 2005: Defensive epic failure vs. Steve Smith 2006: Mike Brown and Tommie Harris out for season by second week of December, Defense isn't historically good anymore. 2010: Cutler tears knee up during 1st quarter of NFCCG vs. GB 2011: Bears start 8-3, Cutler breaks thumb and misses remainder of season. Bears finish 8-8 2013: Conte epic failure with less than 1 minute to play vs. GB Now for 2018: Great defense again, QB injured(again) and nobody knows how long he's actually going to be out. It could end up that it is just another season derailed by an injury to the team's most important player. -

If the Bears lose this week, I could see a downward spiral where the only game they win the remainder of the season is the SF game and they finish 9-7. I'm worried that Trubisky is going to miss a lot of time. When he missed the Lions game, and now the Giants game, I can't help but wonder if Trubisky has a 4-6 week injury. Coincidentally, that is the majority of the remainder of the season. This is what always happens to the Bears, any success must be taken with a massive grain of salt because whenever there is success, disaster is just around the corner. Whomever said that Bears fans are conditioned to always expect the worst is correct. -

I never disagreed that there were many aspects of being a GM that Bowman was bad at. I said I'm not sure I want to punt on a guy who has proven to be an excellent amateur talent evaluator when that is what the team needs most at this point in time. Drafting is the only thing that Bowman is great at. He's below average to bad at everything else about being a GM. I think that he should get a chance to learn from his mistakes, but if he signs anymore stupid contracts or massively overpays in another trade he should get whacked immediately. Now, I know you disagree with me on Bowman's drafting, but the Hawks didn't have a lot of high picks from 2015-17 because they traded them to chase cups. If you fail to take that into account, that is on you. -
Guys we should target on short term deals
Jack Parkman replied to wrathofhahn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
There is zero upside left for the Sox with Avi. He's been bad, injured or inconsistent his entire career with the Sox. They only have him for this season and quite frankly whatever money they'd spend on him should be spent elsewhere. He's not part of the future of this team so they should just cut their losses and move on. -
I'd do Avi Garcia for Hoffman and Tapia, because I want no part of Engel in CF next year. I just don't think the Rockies are interested in that because it would have happened already if they were. The Sox need to find distressed assets/former top prospects that are struggling to grab because they have playing time to give.

No, but it is going to happen again. My god I was screaming and calling him an idiot the entire 4th quarter. They're lucky that they got that 15 yd penalty on that last drive, otherwise they may have blown the lead again. I have a feeling it is going to happen vs. a team the Bears shouldn't lose to. I can't stand the conservatism. They were dominating the Vikings offense through 3 quarters. Why change anything? -

Fangio is going to get burned eventually by going into a defensive shell each and every 4th quarter. -
Morosi: White Sox interested in "both Machado and Harper"

I don't think so. Boras likes to squeeze every dollar he can out of contracts for his premier clients by stalling until late January.
