  1. I really don't think it is guessing. I think it might be a pitch recognition thing. This KC pitcher has a realy nasty cutter. I think he's just not picking up this pitcher well.
  2. That's another way of looking at it. LOL. I fail to see anyone more qualified for this job than Ozzie, but I really don't know if time has healed the wounds in KW/JR's eyes.
  3. Jinxes don't exist. Whether or not Bennetti said that, Lopez was going to walk a batter. I don't believe in jinxes. Talk about it.
  4. Ozzie was great at managing a pitching staff so I could live with the bunting from him. Others, not so much. He really knew how to push a pitcher's buttons to get the most out of them. He was also great at taking the pressure off of his players by putting it on himself. He did everything else well so the bunting wouldn't bother me as much.
  5. I know. Which is scary. I was just going to follow up that I'd probably hate Vizquel more than I hate RR. Anyone have any other LA manager candidates? I think it is really important to have a Spanish speaking manager when Moncada and Jimenez are the faces of the lineup going forward.
  6. I agree. I'd be all for giving Ozzie a second go if he didn't burn that bridge and piss on the ashes. Ozzie was actually a good manager, despite my criticism at times. I fail to see anyone other than Vizquel that fits the bill.
  7. Davidson sucks, he is what he is. Palka hasn't had enough looks at the MLB level for me to say that. I still have hope for him. You can DFA Davidson now for all I care.
  8. I agree. Cease really isn't walking anyone anymore. He's in the argument for top RHP prospect in the minors for the 2019 preseason list. Cease is right there with Kopech, Whitley and Keller, IMO. Would anyone else consider giving Cease a taste of Charlotte for the last few weeks of the MiLB season?
  9. Lopez still not missing any bats, even with improved pitch placement. It is either baffling or maybe he's not an MLB pitcher.
  10. Renteria needs to be shitcanned at the end of the season. He's horrible. It is an indictment on both front offices in town that they even employed him for one season.
  11. They think he's blowing away minor league hitters with pure stuff but it won't play the same in the Majors. They think his command and control suck, and that is why they project him as a reliever.
  12. Buy the new best seller If I Did It By Donald J. Trump.
  13. I agree. I'm rooting hard for the Cubs to win 84-86 games the next few seasons. Nothing could change the casual fan's mind better than the Sox starting to rise and the Cubs stagnating in mediocrity.
  14. I'd argue that it won't go away until he gets an unheralded prospect to come to MLB and become a star. If Tatis becomes a star in MLB, and the Sox get a bunch of above average players out of this rebuild, but no stars, Hahn might as well quit because he'll never hear the end of it. This has a chance to go down as the worst trade in Chicago baseball history. Worse than Brock for Broglio.
  15. They could all be sent down this year at some point and still use it. We're in August now, might as well keep it for 2019. There are only ~30 MiLB games left for the full season affiliates. It would be a complete waste at this spot in the season.
  16. Interesting argument, but I think they wanted it in their back pocket for some reason.
  17. Poor word choice, but yes, that is what I meant. What I meant is that they want to have it in the event they have to use it, and they won't use it until they feel they have no other choice.
  18. He has 1 option left. That is why they brought Moncada up last August. He had to start the season in Chicago or he would have had zero options left. They want to make damn sure that they have to use that last one. When Moncada was called up in 2016, that was an option year. They sent him to AAA in 2017, that was two. He only has one left, as do Lopez and Giolito. In 1.33 non-competitive years they are all learning on the job even though none of the three are clearly ready. I was b****ing about them bringing up Moncada last year until I realized he had 1 option left. For better or worse, Moncada/Giolito/Lopez are going to have to sink or swim at the MLB level. Going to AAA really isn't an option for them for at least another season or two.
  19. Moncada and Lopez are in Chicago for the exact same reason Giolito is. They all have one option left, and the Sox are going to make damn sure they have to use it before risking waivers. They all were brought to the 40 man on contending teams that thought they could help. Not the ideal situation but it is what it is. Moncada was brought up last year because for all intents and purposes, he had to start the season in Chicago, or have zero options left. Because of this, why not bring him up last year and start the MLB learning curve because it doesn't matter anyway.
  20. Anyone watching the Barons? How hard is Medeiros throwing?
  21. As he should. In no way is that acceptable. EDIT: I wrote this before the replay confirmed the catch was made on the fly.
  22. Um, Never mind. I was thinking out loud, and I had no idea that Meadows was a bad OF too. Move along. I thought Meadows was a plus CF, which is where the confusion set in.
