4 shots is a lot of ground to make up. He got horribly unlucky on the par 3 16th, hit a damn near perfect shot about 7 feet from the hole then caught the slope into the gully and shot 4 when he deserved a 2. He might be "in it" per se, but he has to shoot 64(par is 71) to have a shot.

No, I held this opinion last year, and posted it on this board, way before Holmes said this. Great, He has the intangibles. What does he do on a football field that excites you? Still waiting. I wrote the following after the game vs. New Orleans: QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Oct 29, 2017 -> 03:10 PM) Yep. He doesn't have the "It" factor. We have ourselves another Cutler. Sigh. The great ones, even as rookies, found ways to win games they shouldn't. [/QUOTE] -

Why wouldn't you value Holmes' opinion? He was with the team every day for 3/4 of a decade. I'll ask the same question that he asked on his show: What, exactly, does he do on the field that makes you excited for him? I listened to the show and nobody could answer the question. Give me concrete football reasons. I'll listen with an open mind. -
They should have nipped this in the bud in early June, when I noticed the fucking pattern.

We should re-name this like a court case. It should be called Yoan Moncada v. the MLB Umpires Union.

Ricky is such a horrible manager. I never thought I'd want Ozzie back because I despised him, but now I realize how good he was. He'd be perfect for this team. Too bad he burned that bridge to the ground and pissed on the ashes. Ozzie really knew how to handle a pitching staff, and he also knew when to go get his ass tossed. Ozzie wouldn't have had a second thought about holding the Umps accountable. Renteria is chicken shit.

more like 20-25% but 15% Easily. I'm starting to become convinced that Moncada banged an ump's daughter on a road trip or something. There is no other thing I can think of that could make this sort of consistency with called third strikes that aren't close to the plate.(the previous comment is obviously sarcasm) It doesn't matter where they are, or who's the home plate umpire it seems to happen at least one game per series where he gets fucked over like this.

Listening to Laurence Holmes talk about Trubisky on the Score makes me feel better about what I said last year about Trubisky not having the "It" factor that the great ones have. No WOW moments. I said that and everyone thought I was nuts. Listening to him say it too makes me feel a lot better about having that opinion. I want to get excited about the Bears but I just can't. Their division and Trubisky being meh put the damper on it. Probably another 5-11 season coming. -
Seven is an understatement. Moncada should have 12-18 more BB than he does because the Umps are screwing him over. Hahn/Renteria/JR should have a powwow about this, and JR should agree to pay for Renteria's fines. RR should throw an absolute conniption fit each and every time Moncada gets a called strike that isn't close to the zone.

At this point, let him play out his contract, QO him if he has a good year next year and let him walk after the extra year. Not a lot of teams would offer him what the QO would, and then after that he'll be 34 and time to let him go.

Stephens, Adams and Guerrero are fringe prospects. I thought Zavala was still in Birmingham for a moment and yeah, I know Vieira is there but I don't want to watch an entire game just in case a reliever enters the game.

For right now, they should only air Knights games when Kopech is on the bump. Other than Kopech and Jimenez, there isn't anything there.

Tiger out in 34. Just found the bunker off the tee on 10 though.

Nice. Looks like a solid scouting job by the Sox.

If trading with the Braves, I'd like to try and snag Toussaint. I'd have zero complaints about that deal. That guy should call up Hahn/AA, get it done!

Durham only hit 20 HR in a season twice, once was 20 on the spot and once he hit 26. Moncada will hit 20-25 this season. He has way more power than Durham ever had. Moncada in his prime, when the Sox are good will be a perrenial 30/30 guy. The thing that separates Moncada and Durham is that Moncada has way more power. Other than that, they are good comps. I think Durham with Cano's power is a good comp. He's probably going to put up seasons of .370-.410 OBP too.
