  1. Giolito is so frustrating because the only way that he ever allows baserunners is via the BB. If the dude could only find the strike zone.
  2. Giolito has to learn to get that change down. He does, it becomes a nasty pitch.
  3. 2nd at 94 so good sign Crap he's walking guys and missing high and away to lefties again.
  4. I don't know why the umps changed their minds on that one. 100% a balk
  5. No, I watch the games and look at the data to confirm/deny what I'm seeing. It isn't just one or the other. I'm not saying that he's completely terrible, or he can't get better, but I do hope there is something he can do to put more spin on his fastball. The concern is that he isn't missing bats and if all else stays the same, he might be a back of rotation guy at best. When I said he might be an AAAA guy that was more hyperbole than anything else, It is more me trying to get my point across that he's not a TOR pitcher, and unless he starts missing bats he won't be.
  6. This opinion is a multi start data set. I see this start after start. Hitters are on his stuff for some reason. He's not fooling hitters. Can someone explain that to me, other than low spin rate? I'm not overreacting to every pitch, I have seen what I have seen over the course of the season.
  7. See above for my "hot take" on Lopez. idk, it makes his 98 mph fastball easier to hit. Do you even watch the games???? This is why hitters are not late on his 97-98 mph cheddar. They hit him hard, each and every time. The bad defense doesn't help either, but he's probably up there in DRA, and I know he is in xFIP. Also, his 6.4 K/9 is closer to a soft tossing LHP rather than a righty power arm, and his BB/9 is almost 4. No good
  8. really? I've never heard that, or is this supposed to be some sort of joke?
  9. hawk\ I luuuuv me a Twin Killing. /hawk
  10. Then why did you ask what Benetti was talking about? He said the guy had a good curveball. LOL
  11. I don't like putting Minaya in a close game.
  12. Really wish it was Moncada who got that hit, but I'm not complaining.
  13. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/jon-lesters-high-wire-act/ Here you go.
  14. Now would be a great time for Moncada to hit his first HR from the right side of the plate.
  15. Sox are getting brutalized with balls and strikes this season, and it is getting infuriating.
  16. With a below average fastball spin rate, and almost non-existent secondary stuff, I'm not sure he's anything more that AAAA fodder to be honest. I have more faith in Giolito and Dunning than him. Giolito was a project and we knew that, we might be about to get the payoff on that one. If they can flip him for a hitter or other prospects this TDL I wouldn't have a problem with it in the least. try to get someone to buy fools gold.
  17. Just FYI Lopez FB spin rate: 2088 RPM MLB AVG: 2263 RPM Huge difference. Explains a lot.
  18. Yeah really. His lack of missing bats is kind of baffling with his stuff. To be honest I'd like to see what his spin rate is on his fastball compared to MLB average. I'll go look it up. Moncada ?
  19. Lopez getting hit HARD. Not missing bats and everything off Minny bats are being scalded.
