https://theathletic.com/401900/2018/06/22/the-many-ways-the-blue-jackets-could-handle-the-artemi-panarin-situation-none-of-which-are-pleasant/ Rumor has it that Panarin only wants to play in New York, LA or Chicago. -

Whatever you want to say, The velocity return is encouraging. Command still an issue. -

Yeah, can't believe I forgot about Eaton, but the Sox teams during his time here were pretty forgettable. -

Even if you count Semien and Escobar, it is still pretty damning that the best they could do in a decade and a half is two fringe starters in the middle infield. Every young Sox player who had any sort of success in the majors spent the majority of their development time in another organization. Quentin, Floyd, Danks all spent their time in other orgs and were MLB ready when acquired. -

Gio spent more time in the minors with Philly and Oakland IIRC. EE is a fringe starter having a good season and Yolmer is also a fringe starter. Try again. Talking about an everyday player or longtime rotation piece. -

I remain skeptical that the Sox can develop young players of any kind. Sale was MLB ready so he doesn't count. Name a player who has spent 2-3 seasons in the Sox minors and had a long career. The last one was McCarthy. Yes, it has been that long. It would be nice if one of the Sox minor leaguers came up and set the world on fire rather than struggle for a season plus worth of PA/Innings. It doesn't seem that hard to do because other teams are doing it regularly. Sox are a joke. -

This really has turned into a clown show on defense. Everyone to DH lol. The definition of "fun bad" all you can do is laugh they're so damn bad at baseball. -
While there are conspiracy theorists on both sides of the political aisle, from my experience liberals are more likely to dissociate themselves from whackos while conservatives tend to feed them and cultivate new crazy ideas, so long that it supports their agenda
-
Even worse than Giolito? Wow. I know Giolito doesn't give up nearly as many hits, but I find this hard to believe. I knew that Lopez was bottom 5 but I thought Giolito was worse due to his K/BB being less than 1.
-
I thought their outfield was Marwin Gonzalez-Springer-Reddick. All clearly solid MLB players at least.
-
Yeah, I was wondering if you were sure or if it was wishful thinking. Was leaning toward the latter.
-
If the Astros trade for Abreu, they might be the first team in MLB history without a hole anywhere on their team. Mighty impressive. 1B is the only hole they have currently. Might be the most perfectly constructed team of all time. I'd be shocked if they didn't repeat should they trade for Abreu.
-
Well qualify that the Charlotte gun is slow next time to not incite panic attacks lol. If you see the words "Kopech" and "91 mph fastball" in the same sentence you're risking the lives of older diehards as someone is liable to have a heart attack.
-
No. Was expecting 95-98 sitting 96-97, with a few pops at 99-100 when he needs it. I'm not an idiot lol. I don't doubt he could approach Chapman levels out of the bullpen though.
-
This belongs here too.
-
Ok that makes me feel a bit better.
-
That is what we all thought with Giolito too. I think it is probably a mechanical(physical) issue with both of them. I know it is with Giolito because when he stays closed he hits 93-95 but he rarely stays closed and flies open a lot. Flying open also leads to arm injuries, so they have to be careful with the both of them that they don't hurt themselves.
-
I hope he doesn't have the same gradual velocity loss as Giolito. This seems eerily similar. It was a gradual drop to where he is now with Giolito. When Gio came up with the Nats, he was topping out at 96, and it was all downhill from there. This is very concerning. He is also getting wild and walking everyone. It seems like Giolito all over again. That would royally suck. Cross your fingers that it doesn't happen to Cease too as he moves up the ladder.
-
Even though the guy blows chunks, that is the type of bullpen arm they need to take fliers on during the rebuild. Hit on a few and flip them. I realize they will miss on more than they hit, but that shouldn't deter them from continuing to try on those "live arm" types
-
Bruce Rondon sucks. I was glad they took a flier on him but damn is he bad. I don't know why, but he's bad.
-
Moncada has probably lost 10-15 points of average and 25-35 points of OBP with as many times as he's been rung up on pitches that were clearly ball four in full counts. All I'd ask Renteria is what took him so long to stand up for Moncada?
-
I meant starter. Sorry. Jury is still out on Covey.
-
Moncada fucked over by the umps again. Did he say something to them that was disparaging as that was clearly ball four.
-
Yeah, and Lopez is showing that he was smoke and mirrors, and why xFIP is a thing. Honestly, the Sox have one MLB caliber pitcher right now and that is Rodon. Hopefully this teaches everyone a lesson about penciling in a prospect who comes up and starts out hot with shitty peripherals.
