  1. I never said that. He's been disappointing this year, but Anderson is the only hitter that hasn't in some form. Robert is 24, he still has time. Eloy is still 25 and he does too, but looks more broken than Robert.
  2. Next time Hahn does his lawyer speak, I'd pay money to hear someone reply, "Don't be a dick, Richard."
  3. That describes pretty much every Sox hitter other than Anderson.
  4. What's worse right now, Moncada with the bat or Burger with the glove?
  5. He does, but his plate discipline is just as bad. The major difference between Robert and Eloy is athleticism. At least Robert can play defense.
  6. Robert is going the way of Eloy. Early promise, followed by baseball figuring him out. Lack of plate discipline should be an automatic disqualifier in scouting.
  7. If the Sox got a division title and a 93 win season, can we really call the rebuild a failure?
  8. I think Hahn hasn't been good but Jerry hamstrings him with the type of contracts he can hand out and if Jerry thinks the player is not below market value, then they can't sign him. For all we know, Eduardo Escobar may have been outside budget. Also, given how the Sox are getting burned by Moncada and Eloy's extensions, good luck getting Jerry to sign off on those again.
  9. Both Kopech and Cease are FA in the 25-26 winter.
  10. While true, did they even have anyone to bring up other than Sanchez or Sosa?
  11. Sanchez is 25. He should get his shot to prove himself as a utility infielder.
  12. I have one name for you about Cease: Scott Boras. Boras guys go to FA. It is what it is. Maaaaybe they can re-sign Kopech but he's a long shot as well.
  13. It's so dumb to waste an option and 40 man spot on Sosa if this is what they were going to do. Sanchez should have been brought up instead.
  14. Cease and Kopech won't be re-signed. No reason to keep them around unless they're doing a re-tool, and the only way to do that is to dump salary and dig into FA.
  15. Anyone doing any bit of scouting wouldn't give up much for Giolito. He's not the same pitcher he was from 2019-2021, it's fairly clear. Sad too, because I root for the guy.
  16. Where we disagree is whether or not players like Giolito or Hendriks have much value in trade. The only players that the Sox have that other teams would want are Abreu, Cease, Kopech, Vaughn, Anderson and Robert. Aside from maybe Abreu, those are the players you don't want to trade. The other guys are just salary dumps at worst or would get you a couple C prospects at best. Just look at Giolito right now. Unless you think he can get his velocity back to 2019-20 levels, he's a back end starter. Hendriks is very expensive and is probably untradable because of his contract structure and injury concerns.
  17. Really though.............what can they do? The Sox really only have two options: Stay the course or tear it to the studs.
