Sizemore Mauer Reyes Felix Hamels I picked these players because of their youth and that I am starting a team. If Liriano comes back just as strong as he was before the TJS, then I'd take him over Hamels.

White Sox vs. Twins, 5/30/07 (L)

Oh. My. f***ing. God. -
Speaking of velocity, Jose and Javy have been down this year too. Jose has been 88-91 most of the time and Javy has been 89-92. both were mid 90s last year. I'm kind of worried about Javy, but not as much about Jose given his age.

QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ May 18, 2007 -> 03:29 PM) Well nows the time to get the runs with Dye, Kong and Gooch coming up. Like Kong is going to bail us out. He sucks royal ass right now. This game is over. We'd have to get very lucky to win this one. And JD strikes out.

Does anyone think that Jose is going to get his fastball velocity back? If not, do we trade him in the offseason? -

I have a bad feeling that from this game on we are going to see the Mark Buerhle of July-September 2006. -
Why hasn't Gavin pitched in 10 days? Is he hurt or something?

QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 10, 2007 -> 06:34 PM) Eggy gives up 2 in the first inning. NOT A PROSPECT Why is Egbert not a prospect, Heads? please explain it to me.

Danks is showing nasty stuff. Fastball hitting 94 and an 80 mph curve-yikes. This is what I was expecting his arsenal to be like when we traded for him. Danks>>>>McCarthy

QUOTE(TheOcho @ May 8, 2007 -> 10:15 PM) No one left in the BP correct? Just Logan and Jenks. I think Bobby is unavailable today.

I don't like that Ozzie is using the whole bullpen this inning. What if they tie it? then 3 guys are unavailable for the rest of the game.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 4, 2007 -> 10:08 PM) I hope we don't look back at the 2005 offseason in 5 years and think it caused the downfall of the organization. I fear that as well. The Vazquez trade, as much as I condoned it at the time, may come back to haunt us. Anderson hasn't been able to cut it at the major league level and the Sox have no other CF option from within the organization. The other mistake we made was signing Jose to a 3-year extention. Everyone knew it was bad signing at the time. Nobody knows how old Jose really is except him and his family. When the Jose signed the deal his supposed age was 34. When his contract runs out, his supposed age will be 39. We all are pretty sure that he is older than that. In 2009 we could be paying $10 million for a pitcher who is possibly on the wrong side of 45. The contract could be immovable next year, as Jose looks as if his stuff is declining, and he is becoming very hittable.

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 4, 2007 -> 10:18 AM) I also believe that somehow Johan Santana will pitch next week, Gardenhire always lines it up this way. If the Twins are playing a division rival, Santana ALWAYS pitches against them.

The Sox should change their name in 2007 to the Mendozas. Actually, that would be a compliment to their hitting right now. -
where is the rest of the list?

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 07:40 PM) Where is Danks' fastball that was supposed to be topping out at 94? That is what I want to know. I am disappointed with the reports of his fastball being in the 91-93 range. He's been closer to Mark's fastball than the reported velocity.

Why oh why can't we get out of the first inning without giving up 3+ runs?

king felix leaves with undisclosed injury

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Apr 20, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) Also, don't forget one is right handed and the other is left handed. Liriano is LH and that didn't stop him from needing TJ surgery. If the Ms let Felix throw the slider again he will need TJ surgery by the end of July. Book it. As much as I loathe the Twins, young talent like Liriano and Hernandez should not be wasted. I have no idea why some pitchers can throw a slider without injury and others throw a slider, and injuries derail their career. -

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 10:32 AM) Sliders like his=elbow injuries. Everyone in their org knew it. Randy Johnson had a high velocity slider that had broke a lot and he never had arm trouble. Maybe the Ms will have him work on a different pitch like a splitter or cutter instead. They can't have him end up like Liriano. -

I don't know if the comcast guns are right, but if Jose is only getting his fastball up there at 91, then he's toast. -
