  1. I was talking about 2023, but ok. BTW what is everyone's opinion on Cease? Just one bad start or can we lump him in the underperformance category? Leaning toward one bad start against a hot team myself.
  2. Idk how this team gets better without either a bounceback or geting value from 2022 underperformers not named Harrison/Garcia.
  3. There are 3 teams with a worse OBP?
  4. Just in time for Hahn to trade him for the next James Shields.
  5. Hey I don't disagree. I just don't understand the polyannas when track record proves otherwise. The first rule of Sox fandom is that Murphy was an optimist.
  6. And people like you question my pessimism?
  7. Too many players are having terrible seasons. This year is just lost. Idk whether they should sell or hope that some of these guys bounce back next year. Anyway, I'm out camping. Is Cueto getting shelled or is it poor defense and getting BABIPed to death?
  8. Yeah that was dumb. Win some lose some. I'm Jerry Callo.
  9. I told everyone back in 2019 that Keuchel is a signing a dumb organization makes. I think that speaks for itself.
  10. And there was much rejoicing. Yay.
  11. It was the Guardians, A's and Pirates but the Ramirez extension has pushed Cleveland past the Sox. So they're 28th now. It's so strange how Jerry is willing to light money on fire around the margins.
  12. Until Reinsdorf signs off on a market value, 9 figure contract.......he's the problem. The Sox are 27th in MLB in highest contracts in franchise history.
  13. Guys, I saw this on another forum, but I don't think they can DFA Keuchel. There was something that in the CBA if you DFA a player before their vesting option kicks in, the team is on the hook for said option. I have no way to confirm or deny but Keuchel will probably be on the roster all season if that's the case.
  14. Yes, because he's not a 1B/DH only player. There are only 2 spots for 1B/DH and because Jerry isn't going to let Abreu go until he wants to AND Eloy is only 25 years old they're kind of full. They've experimented with Vaughn in the corner OF and it's not working. If the Sox do the right thing and let Abreu walk after this year it's not a huge issue.
  15. Ok, you got me there but I thought Abrams was the best player at the time and I still think that.
  16. Frank was a special hitter and that's the exception to the rule. He was taken 7th overall and that's where you take a player like Vaughn. Like right now I'd rather have Abrams.
  17. I never consider a 1B the best player available in the top 5. You can't be wasting those on 1st basemen.
  18. Also, as someone who even the last two years thought they were good, but not good enough...I find this thread a bit insulting.
  19. And I know that you'll agree on this, but they blew it with Crochet.
  20. The only reason I liked the Kimbrel deal is because it got Madrigal of the team and I was sick of the written fellatio. Also, you don't take Crochet at 11th overall if you're not going to be patient and start him. I admit I was a Crochet fan, as those are the risks you have to take outside the top 10. Burger got hurt, not much you can do there. I will complain about Madrigal and Vaughn forever. Vaughn is a good player but wasting the 3rd overall pick on a player that is blocked is dumb. At the time of the 2018 draft I was just glad that they didn't take Singer but in retrospect that would have been a better pick than Madrigal.
  21. I'm just screaming into the void at this point. It's not going to help any.
  22. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that 6/9 of the Sox lineup could take a collective shit in the batters box like they have. This is beyond even the most pessimistic preseason outlook. Did I think that all of these players individually could have bad seasons? Yes, but not ALL of them at once. Anderson, Robert and Vaughn should play every day until someone else gives them some help.
