Before the bunt double, when was the last time he had a hit?
The shocking thing is that the walks are gone. He loses a lot of his value if he's up there swinging like Robert and Anderson.
Still wouldn't. I'd start approaching pitchers with extensions and if they're not interested they go bye bye.
There are too many hitters having terrible seasons to buy at the deadline. They need to either stand pat or sell.
It was completely fucked in so many ways.
They should have signed Graveman or Kelly, but not both.
They continue to light money on fire on guys like Harrison and Leury instead of spending $20M on an impact bat.
BTW if Moncada gets his shit together and puts up close to 3 WAR in 100 games or so(after he gets himself healthy) then his contract not a problem.
If he sucks like this, then it's a problem. He does what he did in 2021 and his contract is fine.
I rip on him occasionally when he goes through his slumps because I know he's better than this.
A good kick in the arse.
The shocking thing is that Moncada has a walk% of 12+% over 2020-21 but this year it's below 4% so far, by far the lowest of his career.
If Moncada is healthy he's a much better hitter than Burger. It's not even close. Something is wrong. Yoan came back and was on fire then all of the sudden lost it.
I want to see more mid 90s from Gio on occasion.
I think he's holding back for command, and it's working so far. Verlander it.
I'm surprised that he can still not only get by with 92-94, but thrive with it.
I went into this season wanting to be more positive but the fucking offense decided to suck ass simultaneously.
They have to earn my positivity back by getting their collective shit together. The pitching staff is still great, and Cease just ran into a hot offense.
