  1. All they've been doing is putting band aids on bullet wounds. They need to rip the band aid off and start over. The ceiling for this team is getting curb stomped in the ALDS. That's not good enough.
  2. He had a 4.0 fWAR and bWAR.
  3. The issue is that these problems are showing up too late in the window for a re-tool and there are too many players that aren't just underperforming, but are flat out bad.
  4. Ok you convinced me. I'm on board. Fire his arse right now.
  5. Anderson will be 32 when he needs a new contract. I'm honestly not sure a team with self-imposed budgetary constraints should be re-signing him. If they're doing a re-tool he should be on the table. They're stuck with Moncada/Eloy/Grandal for the remainder of their deals.
  6. How are they going to re-tool? Which position players have value other than Anderson, Robert and Vaughn?
  7. Something is wrong with Moncada this year.
  8. Bingo. Moncada has had one great season, one average one and one above average one in the last 3 years. He's about to be paid for his 2019 production and we haven't seen that since. I give Moncada shit because I keep waiting for the 2019 guy to show up again and he doesn't. At this point, I'd take 2021 again but the walks have evaporated. Does anyone else remember how lost he looked in ST? This isn't particularly surprising. He hasn't looked this bad since being traded to the Sox. I still believe he can be a good player, but still waiting for results at this point.
  9. From a few years ago when they had all of the bloated contracts for terrible players?
  10. Vaughn needs to be batting 2nd and Moncada 9th.
  11. The rest of baseball sees what we all see. That contract is immovable. If they want to cut payroll Eloy is more likely. Even then, they're probably getting nothing but salary relief.
  12. I'm not joking. 100% serious. 2022 was supposed to be the peak year of the window. What is happening, cannot be happening.
  13. He's not a bad pitcher, but Gio gives up a lot of fly balls and the Sawx offense is on fire.
  14. He's still only hitting .220. April must have been horrid for him.
  15. At least Abreu is coming around a bit.
  16. That would suggest the oblique is still bothering him. Wasn't it bothering him more as a lefty? Sox won't do shit unless the wyes guys (Yaz and Yoan) get their shit together.
  17. This is fair. I'm just pissed about the offensive performance this year.
  18. Moncada was good offensively in 2019 and 2021. Those are the only good offensive years that he's had. This is year 6 with the Sox.
  19. How do we know what he would have done over a full season? Moncada had a 95 wRC+ in 2020. That is bad.
  20. Did you see his offensive numbers in 2020? While he was dealing with covid, and it's no joke he still had a bad year offensively even if he had a valid excuse.
  21. The only track record Moncada has is inconsistency and it's a bad bet to count on 35 year old players in Abreu and Pollock to keep it up forever. Grandal was good once, but it looks like he's Kirk Gibson ca. October 1988 at this point. His knees are shot.
  22. I wasn't talking about the old guys. I added that but the site is being wonky again.
  23. Their 1B and C are just old and YoYo is on a good year, bad year yoyo since he got called up. He's incredibly inconsistent if you're being generous.
  24. Are they just having bad seasons or were they never good to begin with?
  25. Hahn should be fired and they should be selling anything anyone with value. This rebuild has failed.
