The return wouldn't be anything more than salary relief even if he is tradeable.
I don't think anyone would want to pay him 42.6M over the next two seasons.
I don't even think Moncada is tradeable with his contract. They're stuck with him for the next two seasons.
I really thought that 2019 was a breakout season for him, while it turns out it was just a career year. Every other season he's been roughly the same guy.
There was this one guy on another board that insisted that Moncada sucked for years. I defended him every time. I should learn my lesson and not get overly attached to players on my favorite team ever.
Those are the guys with the most value. If they're rebuilding, those are the guys that have to be traded. Giolito and Lynn(if he has a good year after his injury) have some value.
They're not getting anything for Moncada, Jimenez, Abreu and Grandal.
This season reminds me of 2016. The solution is the same, but it's going to take longer this time. The Sox don't have a Chris Sale, Adam Eaton or Jose Quintana to trade on this go around.
This is a bad team guys. We're the 2021 Twins but they've been actually lucky in their wins so far. They should be right there with the Royals and Tigers based on run differential.
Nailed it.
Look at the ABs they're taking as a team. TA is the only one who can make this approach work, which is why he's the only one performing well and the rest of the team's numbers are dropping like a rock.
Moncada was fine last year.
He has sucked so far this year. It's only 8 games, but I don't like what I'm seeing. This bad hitting is contagious, and now it's infected Moncada, Vaughn and Robert.
