I only listened to the end of the game, but I saw that Mack started in center again. I think thats three times in the past week. How bad was the Cora play? Was it as bad as sending AJ home against Texas?
-
I saw it tonight, and it was just as good as I expected. Farva's character is great in this one too.

I'm going to see this tonight, looks hilarious. It's pretty much the same cast as Super Troopers, which is one of my favorite movies. Here is the trailer http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/beerfest/trailer/

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 12:12 AM) First of all, Craig Monroe and Marcus Thames have been the Tigers 2 best hitters for a couple months now, but I digress. And also, the Yanks lineup when healthy is going to be a biatch. But anybody could have had him, all you have to do is pay the whole contract (which is a lot more value to the Phillies, all that freed up money, than prospects could ever be). The Yankees are also losing money this year, so it's not like this trade doesn't hurt their pocketbook. He had a no trade clause where he could only go to a few teams, so that made it hard to deal him. Without a no trade they could have gotten some better prospects.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 03:20 PM) At some point Jon and Cy Young have to be talked about. He's tied for second in wins, but his ERA will probably keep discussion to a minimum unless something magical happens between now and the end of the season He would have to finish with an ERA around 3.50 to have a shot. It will be tough to beat Johan and Verlander, Johan might win the triple crown.

Let the bullpen finish this one off.

The Tigers have the most annoying PA announcer in baseball.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 06:42 PM) I don't care if he uses BMac at some point, but Buerhle and Garcia really give the Sox no chance to win. They are brutal. Contreras is starting to resemble them and Vazquez obviously is a lost cause. At least send a message to your pitching staff and to your team, because throwing these guys out there is doing no good. LOL, Hawk just said how important these next 2 games are for Detroit. Hey Hawk, you may want to look at the standings in the paper. The thing I hate about Freddy is we are always playing from behind with him on the mound. he cant get out of the 1st. Plus you have the fact that he cant hold a baserunner to save his life. -

I leave the room for ten minutes and we go from leading 3-0 to tied at 3. Good thing Joe hit that homer. -
I have been thinking about this for a while, have Mack lead off and play left some of the time. He has a higher average and walks a lot more than Pods. Plus, he would be an upgrade defensively. Add in the fact he wouldn't be taking as much time away from BA. Yes, Pods has 33 stolen bases, but he has gotten caught almost half the time. Mack might be able to steal some, he has 5 while only being caught once. It will probably never happen but I wanted to get everybodys thoughts on it.

2005 3.12 3.87 3.61 3.50 5.12 2006 4.87 4.04 4.87 4.83 5.13 That's why were struggling, plain and simple. Does Ozzie deserve some blame? Yes, but the starting pitching is why we arent where we were last year. The starters deserve the most blame.

Singleton just said Iassogna (sp?) threw him out of a game in the minors.

WTF is wrong with Jays' manager Gibbons?
WhiteSoxfan1986 replied to Big Hurtin's topic in The Diamond Club
Think how the media would be acting if this were Ozzie. -
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 08:59 PM) espn has an article up. I guess Gibbons was seen shoving Lilly in the dugout/clubhouse area after he felt Lilly showed him up by refusing to give up the ball. Gibbons was seen bloody later. The story hints that Gibbons might have made physical contact first. Although I felt the whole Hillenbrand situation was Shea's fault initially, perhaps there is a bigger issue with Gibbons than meets our Chicago eyes. Just saw the highlight, it will be interesting to get more details. I dont see Gibbons managing the jays next year, with this stuff and the way the jays are uneracheiving.

Whats this about John Gibbons confronting Ted Lilly? It was in the bottom corner on ESPNEWS.

Contreras blew again tonight. I also didnt like seeing maybe our two best defensive players on the bench.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 11:12 AM) KW....get on the phone with the Mets! Best wishes to Glavine though. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ The Mets would like to have garcia or Javy, and because of the money they make they would both clear waivers. On the other side of things, Tom Glavine is one of my favorite pitchers of all time and I would love to see him get to 300 wins.
