Trade with SF (2002 firesale) Lofton for Felix Diaz
WhiteSoxfan1986 replied to rangercal's topic in FutureSox Board
I looked at some old prospect lists at BA, and Diaz was ranked as the 5th best prospect in the Giants system in 2002, and liriano wasn't even ranked. In 2003, Diaz was our 8th best prospect and Liriano was the Giants 4th best prospect. So, we might have been able to get him, but I assume he had a really good year in 2002. I forgot who else we got in the 2002 fire sale. I know we got Adkins for Ray (would have been MUCH, MUCH better off getting a first round pick in return). -
Top 3 web gems in White Sox history

QUOTE(Chisox_fan @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 01:23 AM) Is it going to air again? Anyone know? It will probably air tomorrow morning, just check the guide. -
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:18 PM) As of right now, Wright isn't even the best hitter on his own team. I was a HUGE fan of Wright's up until the All-Star Game, Fox/MLB went way overboard in hyping him, hell they spent an entire inning interviewing his dad. I now can not stand him. I'm in the same boat as you. It's a joke that a lot of people think he's the MVP. Ever hear of Albert Pujols and Ryan Howard? When Jeter retires he will pass the torch to wright. God I hate New York.

Great win, even though it got scary in the 9th. I was impressed with how Javy was able to get out of those jams.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) Uribe's stands catch>>>>Jeter's. Not only was it in WAY more important situation, but IMO it was tougher, period. Yet it's Derek Jeter so everything he does is blown way the f*** out of proportion. What are you talking about? A Yankees-Red Sox game is more important than the world series. -
Completely agree on scarlett

I had a situation like this last year at a Sox-Indians game last september. Me and the two guys I was with walked into our section, and we saw some Indians fans. It didnt take too long to realize who they were in that they all had the exact same indians shirt on and didnt know the players on the indians Im willing to bet that half the boston fans that come to the cell to see the red sox are actually cub fans.

ST Poll: Who's the most clutch player on the Sox?
WhiteSoxfan1986 replied to greasywheels121's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Has to be Joe. -
Tomorrow on Baseball Tonight, it's the Sox turn for the top three web gems in franchise history (well, since TV began). What's everyones top 3? I can only think of recent ones off the top of my head, but here they are. 3. Fisk tagging two yankees out at home (the play from the pregame video) 2. Iguchi's play against Toronto earlier this year 3. Uribe diving into the stands in Houston

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 01:07 AM) You sure about this one? I seem to remember different... Most of the time that was the case, they would have two games. And you would get a different game depending on your area. So if the Sox or Cubs were on, you would get another game.
-
Anybody notice how they cut back on televising games this year? In the past for monday and Wednesday night baseball, they would usually show a game at 6 and one at 9 (one on ESPN, the other on ESPN2 most of the time). This year they have been showing one. I have barely watched the west coast teams play this year. Another thing they changed is how you would get another game if the main game was in your area (as was the case tonight). Now they just show ESPNEWS. Really sucks, I would much rather have another game available than the other bullcrap they show.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 09:39 PM) Bases loaded, no outs and 2 infield popups and the long fly we needed happened with 2 outs. Corpseball 2006 edition. I am sick of Hawk b****ing about the umps. Same here. It seems like all the games against NY we are at a built in disadvantage though.

Anyone else suprised at how deep Damon was playing? He didn't have a chance, especially with Tad running. Have to question Torre on that one.

QUOTE(MarlinFan84 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 11:16 PM) I'd actually do Nolasco and Petit or Vargas if some of Garcias enormous salary could be paid. Just think...much like Garland...another SP the Cubs had and discarded that would do nice things for you guys. This has double effect...it helps take out the logjam on SP we have(not that its a bad thing...but our stud SP prospects gotta get a chance sometime), and we'll get draft picks for Garcia. I would do that, especially the Nolasco/vargas deal.

Boston wins again on another walk-off, this time a single by loretta. Carmona had two outs and then walked the bases loaded. This sucks.

Man, Choo is a decent prospect but I thought Cleveland might be able to get a little bit more. How many more years does Broussard have on his contract? It will be interesting to see who the PTBNL is.

http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prosp...ews/262005.html I remember the buzz about this guy when he was drafted, the first (documented) high schooler to reach 100 mph, and supposedly he hit 101. I dont think he ever made it past AA. Just another guy in another long line of KC draft busts. Btw there is a blurb about McCulloch in there.

Should McCarthy get some spot starts?
WhiteSoxfan1986 replied to jackie hayes's topic in Pale Hose Talk
No McCarthy should not get some spot starts, he should be in the rotation permanently. -
QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 10:11 PM) Unlike our team, the Rangers can put hits together. Texas retakes the lead 7-6 going into the 9th... Nevermind. 2 run bomb...yanks up 1 now.... Just our luck.... Yankees win, they lead the wild card. Texas really f***ed themselves not getting a run with the bases loaded and nobody out in the 8th. And the Yankees will be even better by monday after they take on some salary dump without giving up anything.

Trade for him Kenny, his missing leadership is the reason we are losing!!!!

Everybody with me?

McCarthy needs to be in the rotation, end of story. The only positive is we get to play Baltimore and KC for six games, we better take at least five.
