why are you tagging him AJ? -
I can never tell exactly how hard he's throwing, because that f***in radar gun on comcast is never right.

ESPN Report: Kenny Looking at Scott Linebrink
WhiteSoxfan1986 replied to SadChiSoxFanOptimist's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I dont see why they would trade their best setup guy when they are in first place, especially after they traded otsuka in the offseason. Levine is never right anyway. -
QUOTE(loltrain @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 05:14 PM) Hunter has a broken bone in his foot it sounds like he will be out for awhile. and they will still probably give him a gold glove.

QUOTE(dasox24 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 11:44 PM) I liked Leo when he was in our system and wanted him to do well even though he had zero prospect status. Is he still in A or did he move up to AA? He's in AA in the Orioles system.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 08:38 PM) Stephen Drew called up. The Diamondbacks would be better off letting the kids play. Speaking of which, anybody think Homer Bailey gets called up this year?
-
I just wanted to give an update on how Leo is doing so far this year. Even though he was 26 playing in the carolina league (a level he first reached about 5 years ago), he had a hell of a year last year even if he was never really a prospect. He's hitting just .238 with 12 homers and 44 RBI's.

7/14 Game Thread: White Sox vs. Yankees
WhiteSoxfan1986 replied to Gregory Pratt's topic in 2006 Season in Review
The only bad thing about tonights game is Widger will probably be catching. -
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 14, 2006 -> 12:06 AM) And he was rated how highly on our top-prospects list preseason? Tell me, because I'm continuing to doubt everyday, who exactly do we have to look forward to? Lumsden and Sweeney as far as I'm concerned. Fields, who probably will be our top prospect going into next season.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 07:45 PM) this is really, really enjoyable. comcast should strike up a deal to show like 20 knights games a year... That would be great, show some Knights and Barons games. NESN and YES show Red Sox and Yankees farm clubs.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 01:54 AM) Carter with another bomb, geez. He's too good for this league, that's clear. I can only hope he doesn't slow down in full season ball again. How old is Carter, and isn't he repeating the league?

I cant wait to see how the media spins this. Im sure it was only precautionary though.

Who's idea was it to let Joe Buck do the starting lineups? At least Gene got to do it when it was at Comiskey.

Zito signs with Boras in preparation for free agency

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 09:38 AM) Knowing Beane, Zito will probably be traded at the deadline to get some value back. I wonder how that will go. With the A's sitting in first place, I doubt he gets traded, unless beane gets blown away by somebody. They didn't trade Giambi or Tejada. Beane will see how he does in the postseason and get two picks. -
Im not as big of fan of the derby as I used to be. I wish it was just 1 round, whoever has the most home runs wins. Now it just drags on. Ill take Ryan Howard.

I'm pretty much done with Javier Vazquez.
WhiteSoxfan1986 replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Javy will do better than this, he is inconsistent as hell. He could very well be lights out his next five starts. We just have to hope he is on a roll come september-october. -
QUOTE(RX Bandits @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 02:19 AM) And why are the '95 braves on this list. they only won 90 games (on this list that is not that many) the 95 season was shortened due to the strike. It's a joke that the 2005 sox aren't on there though.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 11:38 PM) I'm glad Lumsden is pitching well. Trust me when I suggest there's nothing I would love more than to be proven wrong with our pitching prospects. It only helps for contributing arms to emerge from within the system. I recall when the Thome trade occured someone (whether it's Randar or Chisox) commenting on concerns with Gonzalez's small figure. Past injuries nonwithstanding, Lumsden has a 6'4 frame with a relatively easy delivery. Good future ahead if he can remain healthy; whether that's in the rotation or bullpen. Comparing Lumsden and Gonzalez is interesting. It's as if both seem to have qualities the other doesn't. Lumsden has a better ERA (more than a run), 14 less walks, 10 less HR's allowed (although the park or competition may play a role) with merely 3 more innings pitched. Gonzalez, however, has given up 10 less hits and struck out 48 more batters. Considering the difference in earned runs (11), it's surprising only 10 hits separates Gio from Lumsden. I'll take a guess Gio doesn't fare too well with RISP or other tight situations. The only thing that concerns me with Lumdsen is his strikeout rate. With his stuff I expected it to be better.

The Official Cliff Politte Sucks Thread
WhiteSoxfan1986 replied to JenksForPrez45's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Politte needs to be gone tomorrow. Just as we were really getting back in the game, Politte would give up more runs. That happened twice. At least Tracey or Montero can pitch in mop up time, Cliff can't even do that. -
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 12:22 AM) Well, let's see. He's left-handed, and he doesn't allow a lot of homers... Now, the bad: * His K/BB ratio is pretty bad. A little over a week ago, it was almost 1-to-1. Right now, it's about 1.26 K's/BB, which is, like I said, bad. * His hit rate isn't great, either. His WHIP is around 1.43 -- again, nothing special. * His ERA is 4.00 in Birmingham. Jason, Tom, or someone who has seen Liotta before -- how does his stuff rate? As of this point, he seems (IMO) to project to a lefty reliever, if he can make it that far. Then again, TINSTAAPP can be applied here too... What is his groundball/flyball ratio?
-
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 08:56 PM) Lopez? AA. For some reason, I'm thinking 12th pitcher, or for some odd reason, Torcato due to versatility. I suppose Owens could be a possibility too....but not likely. I was thinking about Owens or Sweeney, but they are both lefthanded. Sweeney could play all three outfield positions though.
