I am usually pretty good at tipping waitresses, delivery drivers, etc. But with bartenders, i'll tip them every other beer or every three beers. I'm not tipping someone for opening a bottle of Bud Light when they're already ripping me off.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 2, 2008 -> 12:44 PM) What if Texas Tech had lost by 7 to 10 points at Oklahoma? As bad as it is now, there would REALLY be no way to seperate the 3 tied teams in that senario, except that Oklahoma would be the only one of the three to not play either of the other two on the road, but even that doesn't work since OU is the only one that had to play at Oklahoma State. IMO even if Tech barely lost it would be tough to put them in the discussion, one reason being there non conference schedule (Eastern Washington, at Nevada, SMU, Massachusetts). Plus they didn't play Mizzou. -
Completely agree with Dick Allen on the Baines argument. As for McGriff, I don't think he's eligible until next year, he's a very interesting case.

QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Dec 1, 2008 -> 04:20 PM) Please let this be the year Dawson gets in. He shoulda been in long before Sandberg got a sniff. Couldn't disagree more. Dawson and his .323 obp have no business being in the hall of fame.

I'd vote for Henderson, Raines, and Blyleven

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 30, 2008 -> 10:50 PM) If it comes to that, in my opinion, Minnesota will have beat Detroit and the Bears beat the Packers so both would be 4-2 in the division. I'm guessing conference record is the next tiebreaker? Yea it's conference record, after that I'm not sure. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 30, 2008 -> 10:29 PM) This team has no character at all other than about 3 guys, so the collapse after the 2 play swing of 14 points was predictable. It would have been hard for them to overcome that as it is because they also aren't very good, but they pretty much did nothing after that in any regard other than the long pick return by (I think) Payne. The season isn't over, but one back with four to play and with the season split, I have no idea who has the tiebreaker. Three straight home games now (followed by a road game against lowly Houston), and must go at least 3-1, if not 4-0. It's certainly possible as the remaining schedule includes a .500 team and 3 teams below that mark, but you can't trust this team obviously, especially after Orton "Rex'd" it this evening. The Vikings finish at Arizona, vs. Atlanta, vs. New York Giants, so it's not easy for them (although they have a free win at Detroit next week), so the Bears have a distinct schedule advantage. I just hope it matters. Tiebreaker is division record. I want to say each team has two losses in the division right now. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 30, 2008 -> 07:22 PM) I'm curious if Texas or USC would go to the title game if OU loses. I doubt we will get to find out, but that would be very interesting. I would enjoy chaos again, and I still don't agree with the team in the Big 12 title game, but Florida/Oklahoma would be a fantastic national title game so I would have few problems with that. It would be a complete joke if USC was put into the title game -

If the Bears hand it off to the fullback one more time this year I might just throw the remote through the TV. -

I am so f***in sick of these USC apologists. Why would anyone rank them fifth, when they probably won't even win the horrible pac-10? How are they ahead of an undefeated Utah team when the Utes beat the same Oregon st. team they lost to? my top 10 1. Alabama 2. Texas 3. Florida 4. Oklahoma 5. Penn State 6. Utah 7. Texas Tech 8. USC 9. Boise State 10. Ohio State -

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 22, 2008 -> 01:22 PM) I'd be curious of everyone's thoughts on Pat White of West Virginia. He's a great college player, but I dont think it'll translate to the next level. No way he'll be a QB at the next level, but he could be a decent WR. -

On the UM board they're saying he just went home for a funeral, and he's playing tomorrow. -
Let me add that whoever voted for K-Rod should have his voted privelages revoked

What a joke

Closer is by far the most overrated position in baseball. I would gladly trade Jenks.

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Nov 14, 2008 -> 02:09 PM) I hate WRs and Phi Beta Sigma. Both are complete idiots. Taiwan Easterling gets sucker punched because one of the gang, I mean, frat member's girl was flirting with him. Some of his teammates defend him, and the rest of the Sigmas get involved. I'm disgusted by both parties, and I have friends that are on both sides. The 5 WRs are all suspended for the BC game even though no arrests have been made. There was rumor that Surrency threw a chair, but it was one of the Sigmas. Oh well, at least Greg Carr and Preston Parker weren't involved. I hate losing Easterling for a game, but Bert Reed and Corey Surrency should be kicked off this team. Surrency said he was dedicating this season to his deceased mother. Well, I guess he is really trying because he's already been suspended twice. Bah, such a good season for us and I'm just embarrassed. At least it's only one position, and 2 of them will likely be off the team by next year. Too bad they can't just be normal students because this never would have even been more than a blurb in the local paper. /rant Stupid. At least for once Bobby did the right thing though and suspended guys before anything official came out. Oh, and good job Miami. Hopefully UNC loses for you. They shouldn't have been wasting their time at a frat party in the first place -
Horrible, horrible, horrible trade for the A's.

Two head coaches stepped down today, Phil Fullmer at Tennessee and Tom Amstutz at Toledo. I think Fullmer needed to go, but Amstutz suprises me. The Rockets have been one of the top MAC programs the last few years. -
Awesome. Love the other players reactions.

2008 World Series - Philadelphia Phillies vs. Tampa Bay Rays

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 27, 2008 -> 10:28 PM) I try to avoid the use of hyperboles under all circumstances, but the World Series ending like that would have been the biggest disaster in the sport since the Black Sox. Thank God Tampa Bay tied it. Yea MLB really lucked out with the Rays tying it up. They would either be facing a game ending at 3 a.m. or playing in a huge puddle. They were really put in a hard spot though, as it's supposed to rain tomorrow as well. -
