QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 09:17 PM) ive never even heard of the opposing pitcher for the padres tonight....just wow gerut? barrett? McAnulty? Even kal greene stinks...the level of competition is just unreal He just got DFA'd by Seattle, so that should tell you how bad he is. I can't believe the Padres haven't called up Chase Headley yet.

Fields could play DH against lefties, and he could play third here and there.

A look back at the 2005 draft

QUOTE (danman31 @ May 30, 2008 -> 01:50 PM) Maybin in bold LOL. Funny that ever happened. He got called up near the end of last year. -
If Crow is there when the Sox pick I would love to see us take him.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 30, 2008 -> 02:25 PM) Scherzer has more risky mechanics and is older. I'd take Kershaw and its not even debatable, imo. Agree. Scherzer has a good chance of ending up in the bullpen.

Watching the Cubs play at home is going to take 10 years off my life.
-
I don't know how long he's been doing it, but Yost hit Kendall 8th today.
-
Crap. I didn't get a good look on that play at first, was he out?
-
He looked out

The way things are going Saito will blow this save.

I'm bored, and I figured it would be fun to take a look back at what could possibly be the greatest draft ever, not to mention a draft where the Sox screwed up. First Round (bold have reached majors) 1. Ari-Justin Upton 2. KC-Alex Gordon 3. Sea-Jeff Clement 4. Was-Ryan Zimmerman 5. Mil-Ryan Braun 6. Tor-Ricky Romero 7. Col-Troy Tulowitzki 8. TB-Wade Townsend 9. NYM-Mike Pelfrey 10. Det-Cameron Maybin 11. Pit-Andrew McCutchen 12. Cin-Jay Bruce 13. Bal-Brandon Snyder 14. Cle-Trevor Crowe 15. Chw-Lance Broadway 16. Fla-Chris Volstad 17. NYY-C.J. Henry 18. SD-Cesar Carillo 19. Tex-John Mayberry Jr. 20. CHC-Mark Pawlek 21. Oak-Cliff Pennington 22. Fla-Aaron Thompson 23. Bos-Jacoby Ellsbury 24. Hou-Brian Bogusevic 25. Min-Matt Garza 26. Bos-Craig Hansen 27. Atl-Joey Devine 28. Stl-Colby Rasmus 29. Fla-Jacob Marceaux 30. Stl-Tyler Greene Other notable selections 36. Oak-Travis Buck 40. LAD-Luke Hochevar (didn't sign) 42. Bos-Clay Buchholz 66. SD-Chase Headley 73. Min-Kevin Slowey 76. Atl-Yunel Escobar 83. Ari-Micah Owings 102. Cle-Jensen Lewis 107. Atl-Jordan Schafer (really good prospect, but just got busted for PED's) Very, very impressive. Already have players who are about to be stars with guys like Rasmus and McCutchen on the way. Dissapointing that the Sox have Lance Broadway when there were guys like Buchholz, Volstad, Garza, Ellsbury, Rasmus, etc. on the board. Although at the time the word was the Sox were interested in Bogusevic and Carillo, and Lance should turn out to be better than both of them.

QUOTE (iamshack @ May 26, 2008 -> 09:15 PM) I didn't like pulling Massett, but I'm not really sure what else there is to complain about? Mainly pulling Masset, not sure why he would put him in when he wouldn' let him pitch an inning. A few minor things as well (not running for Crede)
-
Good win. Way to overcome horrible managing by Ozzie.

Wow, extra innings and the only people left in the pen are Wass and Jenks. Horrible move by Ozzie there, if he didn't plan on Masset pitching a few innings, he shouldn't have brought him in. -

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 26, 2008 -> 08:26 PM) Its time to bring fields up, I could care less if he Ks, the multimillion dollar thuds that are checking the backs of their cards K as well. At least he can hit lefties, and give us some power. This is sad. Fields needs to be up, for the very reason that he would be a real asset to our bench. -
Doesnt Dave Kaplan seem like a Cub fan?
WhiteSoxfan1986 replied to Princess Dye's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ May 22, 2008 -> 04:48 PM) Kaplan has admitted on CTL that he is a Cub fan. And he used to admit it on sports central as well. -
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 22, 2008 -> 03:30 PM) I'd say the Volquez/Hamilton deal worked pretty well for both teams. Who would you rather have? Volquez. Especially for a team like Texas who never has any pitching.
-
Rockford, not too many Sox fans here.
-
nice to see the Arizona bullpen decided to show up.
-
Huge series win. We luck out in not having to face Bedard and Hernandez this weekend.
-
Pathetic. Livan f***in Hernandez. Once again, when will Walker finally be held accountable?
-
QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 7, 2008 -> 02:12 PM) Man the Reds rotation could be pretty strong. With that line-up they are not the easy win as they used to be. Coming into the season I thought the Reds would be a good team. Good young rotation with Cueto, Volquez, Harang, and Bailey when they decide to call him up. Two good young players with Votto and Bruce when they decide to bring him up.

Greg Walker yet again leads Sox to worst batting average
WhiteSoxfan1986 replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I want to say there was about five hitting coaches who got fired last season, yet Walker isn't one of them. Orlando Cabrera and Nick Swisher come to the sox and can't hit. Walker has needed to go for awhile, it's amazing how much patience this organization has in him. -

QUOTE (Felix @ May 6, 2008 -> 12:36 PM) I wouldn't want to be the fan of a team who runs a locker room where players can't joke around in ways that aren't always politically correct (*cough* Colorado Rockies *cough*) Haha excellent point. I forgot about that. -

It's amazing how some people can't take a joke.
