  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 01:12 PM) 3 runs allowed in 4 innings isn't "well". Masset's just not a very good pitcher. Broadway should be on this team right now.
  2. That's what you get for trying to steal third with two outs.
  3. QUOTE (Felix @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 09:46 PM) You mean, other than the fact that Masset is already in the majors, and that for Broadway to start, he'd have to be called up and someone else would have to be sent down. How many days does a player have to be sent down before he can come back up? I believe Broadway should be on the team anyway, so I would have no problem with Masset being sent down, even though he would probably be claimed on waivers.
  4. When is the last time Broadway made a start? I see no reason to have Masset start ahead of him.
  5. It's a new rule they put in last year. And it's a horrible rule.
  6. QUOTE (Colorado Sox Fan @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 06:45 PM) Should I start worrying about Jenks? I am. I know he got by with less stuff last year, but I just don't see him being a shut down closer for long. His Strkeout to walk ratio is awful.
  7. I had no problem with the squeeze. You had Anderson up followed by Ramirez. Ozzie's biggest mistake of the game was the hit and run with OC.
  8. Horrible, horrible decision to hit and run there. Should have layed a bunt down.
  9. Wow. If this is true, it's amazing how stupid people can be. Fifteen?
  10. Great move. Don't look at his ERA, Macdougal has been terrible this year.
  11. One good thing about Illinois, poisonous snakes are very, very, very rare.
  12. Ramirez hits a go ahead HR off Corpas, unf***ingbelievable.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 09:09 PM) I'd rather he get back to the effectively wild Jenks. It would prevent players from sitting on his offspeed pitch. I just wish he could blow his fastball by people more often.
  14. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 09:06 PM) Can someone explain to me how Jenks goes from occasionally hitting 100 to occasionally hitting 94? I mean seriously... I guess I'm not that worried about his general effectiveness but there has to be a reason for the loss in velocity, right? Who knows. He could be taking velocity off on purpose for more control, his walk rate really went down last season.
  15. QUOTE (frankie5angels @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 08:44 PM) He is their best option. Their bullpen is terrible. Mota's a better option at this point. I would seriously consider haing Sheets close.
  16. Turnbow in to close for the Brewers. I can't believe Yost thinks he's their best option.
  17. QUOTE (southsidehawkeye @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 08:24 PM) thats one rather large tick... Massett 90-91, Jenks 93-94. Not a huge difference.
  18. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 08:19 PM) let me preface this by saying that i dont really think masset deserves to be on this team, and to say that his stuff is a "tick below jenks" is rather laughable, but i will say this....he has the stuff to be a starter He has the stuff, but he will never be a starter in this league. And technically he is a tick below Jenks.
  19. QUOTE (Want2Repeat @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 08:14 PM) What makes you think he would be the one brought up? Since Masset is out of options, I am sure he will have to pretty much go Cliff Politte on us, before he is gone. I would assume he would be, since they would need a long man.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 08:10 PM) The thing that pisses me off is Uribe is the 9th place hitter. He gets slammed for not getting Chamberlain last night, when the 7th place hitter was just blown away. If he went 3 for 4, there would be countless posts b****ing about the out he made. Also, his possible replacements people talk about like they are HOFers. Ramirez is just Uribe if Juan gets his jaw wired shut for a couple of months, and Richar hit .230 with a .289 OBP last year. I don't see where those numbers scream he's worthy of playing everyday on a contender. Richar is a better option than Uribe. I agree that he got a little too much blame last night, but that's what happens when you are below the mendoza line. He also got a hanging curveball.
  21. I'm actually rooting for Massett to get lit up here. The sooner he is off the team and Broadway is up the better.
