  1. Ah, the worst two weeks of the year. It's not just finals week, it's the last wee or two of classes when you have a ton of papers/projects due.
  2. Please, please Aaron. Sign with somebody else. What does everyone think of the chance that Andruw will take a one or two year deal? I'd be all over that.
  3. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 3, 2007 -> 11:06 PM) I hate the 1972 Dolphins, and with that said, the Patriots are amazingly lucky. I mean the damn game was over but for the Ravens calling a timeout and killing their own clinching play. Wow. The 1972 Dolphins were lucky as hell.
  4. Maybin + Miller + another prospect is better than anything we have to offer.
  5. Wow. It would be great if we could get him with giving them floyd and not danks.
  6. Let me add that Shula made an ass out of himself.
  7. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Dec 3, 2007 -> 10:46 PM) Dear Patriots, No more of this closeness against teams running smokes and mirrors / running on emotion, eh? No more closeness, period. Way to win. Yours in evil, Gregory Pratt Yea, I really wanted the Pats to win and was pretty nervous. It will be a tough game against Pittsburgh next week, but that's the last real challenge.
  8. I absolutely love this trade. As a matter of fact it is the only offseason move we've made that I like (well, aside from the obvious ones like getting rid of Erstad, Pods, etc.). People forget that Quentin was rated by BA as the#20 prospect in all of baseball last year.
  9. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...r/rankings/1-20 This is a great article that ESPN did a couple of years ago, ranking every super bowl participant. 85 Bears-#2 72 Dolphins-#7 The Bears were a much, much better team than the 72 Dolphins. If the Patriots go unbeaten we won't really hear of the 72 Dolphins anymore.
  10. f*** Don Shula. f*** him. I can't believe he's at this game. f*** him and the entire 72 Dolphins team. I hope I never see Larry Czoncka or that cokehead Mercury Morris ever again. God I wish the Bears would have beat the Dolphins on that monday night game. Go Patriots! Lets get rid of those f***s once and for all.
  11. What the BCS SHOULD look like (keeping with the rules of course) National Championship-LSU vs. Ohio St. Orange-Va. Tech vs. W. Virginia Sugar-Georgia vs. Missouri Fiesta-Oklahoma vs. Hawaii Rose-USC vs. Illinois It looks like KU is gonna get the nod over Mizzou, which is a joke. I like the old system better, with one less BCS bowl. IMO it's too watered down now. No offense Illini fans, but you guys don't really deserve to be in a BCS bowl with three losses, same with Hawaii. Granted this is a weak year, but still.
  12. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 1, 2007 -> 10:56 PM) Not sure Auburn really got screwed. There were two other undefeated teams that year. Would Auburn have given USC a better game? Probably but I still think they get hammered. I thought they should have got in over OU. The SEC is the toughest conference year in and year out, and Auburn runs the table and still doesn't get invited. Granted their non-conference was a joke thet year but I still thought they deserved to go. I also thought LSU should have been the outright #1 in 2003.
  13. I don't see how you can leave LSU out of the title game. I hope they don't get screwed like Auburn did three years ago.
  14. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Dec 1, 2007 -> 02:57 PM) Take Zook from Illinois? That would work out nice for Wisconsin lol Michigan could do much better.
  15. What is with all the fuss over Jacoby Ellsbury? The guy is going to be a good player but you really have to question Boston is he's the one holding up a Santana trade.
  16. I really wish Michigan would make a run at Tedford, it would be interesting to see if he would finally leave Cal. As for Rodriguez, I doubt he'd come after he turned down Bama last year, not to mention his team is in the national title game.
  17. I've always been a Raines supporter. Kalapse pretty much gave his case. I also voted for Blyleven and Gossage. I don't get the love for Morris or John.
  18. Does anyone know a site that has a video of it? I've been looking forever and can't find it. I've never seen it.
  19. The bottom line is the Bears were the better team. I don't even think the Dolphins are the second best team. I would rank the 84 and 89 Niners ahead of them, and you could make a case for the 86 Giants as well.
  20. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 26, 2007 -> 09:33 AM) NIU football coach Joe Novak is retiring today, there is a press conference at 3 pm to make it official and he's told the team. It's a damn shame he's leaving after his only losing season this entire decade (and 6 of the 10 losses were by a touchdown or less, despite the team having over 2 dozen players from the 2 deep get injured and only 9 seniors, so that's even deceptive), but he left the program in about 1,000 times better shape than he found it. Hopefully, his 2 wishes are honored in 2008, as a team that should be very healthy and definitely talented has a shot at that elusive MAC Title, and subsequently hopefully we finally get the football team their indoor practice faciility in DeKalb. I am VERY interested to see where the coaching search leads, I'd be lying if I said I had any clue in terms of names right now. I know one thing though, there are only 10 open scholarships in this recruiting class so it's a small class either way, thus I hope our really good athletic director, Jim Phillips, takes his time and finds the right guy. Joe did a great job, but he needed to go. The recruiting has been awful the last 2-3 years.
  21. Anyone else ever taken a ride on the night train?
  22. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 07:53 PM) I think Rob Neyer has sort of an interesting point. Last year, Ryan Howard won the NL MVP despite Pujols's team making the playoffs, because, at least in the HR and RBI columns, Howard put up better numbers. This year, Jimmy Rollins won the NL MVP despite several other players putting up better numbers in HR, RBI, OPS, etc., because his team wound up making the playoffs. A little consistency people? In the Pujols-Howard case, Howard's team won 3 more games.
  23. Uribe's career OPS is only two points lower than OCab's..................
