  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 04:35 PM) I really wish this team didn't even focus on competing in 2008, and focus more on competing in 2009-2011, etc. Completely agree, but you know that won't happen. I could see this team being .500, maybe 85 wins next year, but there is now way we will get the 95 wins required to be in the playoffs. The farm system sucks, we need to fix it as fast as possible.
  2. Well 2007 is turning out to be a pretty s***ty sports year for me -Sox suck -Bears suck -Cubs are in the playoffs -Michigan is disapointing -NIU sucks -Packers are 4-0 At least Notre Dame might start out 0-8.
  3. I didn't expect Griese to be that good, but I expected him to take care of the ball. And I don't want to hear anybody say this team would be better with Thomas Jones. The line is awful, not to mention Benson only got 15 carries today.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 08:26 PM) Haha, just pathetic. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-0...1&cset=true Every team has a rally, its something MLB started a few years ago. I have to say Philly is my pick to win it all. Hopefully Webb pitches well for AZ, because if he doesn't AZ doesn't have a chance.
  5. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 29, 2007 -> 12:10 PM) Nope, I am at school and they are sent home, so I dont get BAs till I get back home in two weeks. Am I right? I was wrong about Poreda and Moreno, so I could not have been cheating. Why don't you just have them send them to school?
  6. You know what else sucks about the Cubs making the playoffs? We have to hear about them during Bears games the next couple of weeks.
  7. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Sep 29, 2007 -> 02:27 AM) As lovely as it would be to see the Cubs choke, I personally wouldn't mind seeing more World Series baseball in Chicago, even if it is the Urinal. The Cubs would be no better than third in ANY other division in baseball. Probably 8th or 9th best in the AL. Has there ever been a time where the difference between leagues has been this lopsided?
  8. Well, at least they didn't get to celebrate on the field. Fathom's sig says it best-not a single thing has gone right during the 2007 baseball season. That should be the slogan for soxtalk.
  9. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Sep 28, 2007 -> 09:33 PM) Padres up 6-3 now. Cub fans outside my house are screaming. lol. f***in' losers. I can't wait until the playoffs. This is hell, and it seems worse than it did in 2003. The sad thing is that the Cubs aren't that good.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 28, 2007 -> 09:12 PM) In some ways, I want the Brewers to lose tonight. This way, the Cubs can't celebrate on the field. Unfortunately, I don't want to see the Padres win the WC, but it looks like it's going to happen. LOL i was actually thinking the same thing.
  11. I have to see a few more starts before I can judge him. I liked the movement on his fastball, and maybe he'll be a 4th starter, but it was still a waste of a first round pick.
  12. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 27, 2007 -> 10:30 PM) Philadelphia would absolutely kick their ass, so that is my hope. I honestly don't see them beating anybody in the first round though, because although they matchup best with Colorado IMO, the Rockies have won 10 or 11 in a row. The decision by Pinella to say Kendall is his catcher in the playoffs will kill them, every single is now a double with him back there. I say the Phillies as well.
  13. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 27, 2007 -> 03:27 PM) South Park next wednesday. That's all that matters. That and Family Guy (the season premiere was f***in hilarious).
  14. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 27, 2007 -> 09:59 AM) Is Yankmee stadium worth a trip? Yes, especially since it's the last year.
  15. Brewers should win with Gallardo tonight, but who knows with that team.
  16. I've had enough with interleague play. If they want us to have 3 games against the Cubs every year, that's fine. But the Pirates three years in a row??????????? You have to be f***ing kidding me.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 09:27 PM) Congrats to Prince on hitting #50. It's always funny when a milestone homer is their shortest homer of the year, just like when it happened with McGwire breaking the record. He should win the MVP. I just get the sick feeling the voters will f*** up again and give it to wright.
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 03:34 PM) If the Bears want to make the playoffs this season, this move was unavoidable. Maintaining Grossman as the starter, given his play, even with all the other mitigating circumstances (poor O-line Play, disasterous receivers, etc.) only made sense if you wanted to basically say "wait til next year" on Rex. And since Rex is a FA at the end of the season, that seems really stupid to me. Rex had more than enough chances to even begin to show shreds of improvement. He has not done so. End of story. Excellent post
  19. QUOTE(juddling @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 03:21 PM) Hot swedish woman Who is that in your avatar?
  20. This needed to happen. I have been one of Rex's bigger supporters but it got to a point where if Lovie didn't make a change he was gonna lose the team.
  21. 2001 goes down as the greatest ever for me, but I was only 5 in 1991.

  23. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 12:00 AM) Vince Young is Superman At this point he's an average to above average quarterback.
