  1. Fields has been hitting a lot better in May, and at least he knows how to take a walk (which is probably why he wont be called up ). But with Jim coming back there is really nowhere for him to play.
  2. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:38 PM) If they X-rayed him for a broken bone, I doubt they would be allowed to use him the same day. I guess we'll find out more. I'm sure he's okay, but Crede playing for Ozuna late wouldn't have changed the 4-3 score. And he might not have been able to hit either. Alright, didn't know they X-rayed him. I just saw him sitting on the bench with a towel over his nose.
  3. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:28 PM) Hit in the face with a ball during pre-game... I know that, but where exactly did he get hit? I find it hard to believe he couldn't have played.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:26 PM) I have the exact same question, Pablo isn't setting the world on fire, Crede's D should have given the edge if it was a coin toss Not to mention Crede didn't play yesterday.
  5. What exactly happened to Crede today? I find it hard to believe he couldn't have played. Pablo was a real suckfest out there.
  6. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:20 PM) The thing with Ozzie is this... Fine MacDougal blows the f***ing game, you're down 1...ok. BUT HOW DO YOU SEND HIM BACK OUT IN THE 8TH? Exactly. I had no problem with bringing him in during the 7th (not to face Pagan, as fathom said). Aardsma or one of the lefties should have started the 7th, because Buehrle had no business hitting.
  7. I was pissed that Ozzie let Buehrle hit in the7th. I was hoping Aardsma would pitch the 7th (why Ozzie doesn't use him more I have no idea). Macdougal was awful, combine that with four errors (not to mention the dumbass play by Pablo not throwing home).
  8. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ May 17, 2007 -> 07:17 PM) Edit: Actually, my connection is cutting off EVERY COMMERCIAL BREAK. This is really starting to annoy me. Mine too, and now it won't work at all.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 17, 2007 -> 12:01 AM) Going by past trends, that would not be the case. Most people around here are real good about owning up. And if Danks blows out his arm after his start on Sunday then there's something seriously wrong with his arm as of right now, 3 days rest shouldn't destroy the arm of a soft tossing 22 year old. I wouldn't necessarily consider Danks a "soft tosser" as he throws 91-93 and touches 94. I wouldn't have a problem starting either Jose or Danks, as both are better than options than Masset/Floyd/Haeger.
  10. I was all for trading Crede in the offseason. It's too bad his value is gonna take a hit this year.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ May 16, 2007 -> 08:50 AM) You'd throw up if it's Masset, but you wouldn't mind seeing Floyd or Broadway? Let's just say I'm going to be extremely pissed if we have to start Masset against the Cubs due to not playing the game last night for some stupid reason. It's similar to how we cost ourselves a chance at facing the Twins worst pitcher (Ponson) in a game earlier this year because we called a game due to the "cold", even though it was cause our bullpen was so tired. I would rather see Broadway/Floyd than Masset.
  12. QUOTE(SoxAce @ May 15, 2007 -> 10:50 PM) Coop just said Masset will also be in the picture which would be his ML debut so who knows even though I'll take Masset over anyone in AAA. So I doubt we'll see the ol' ring around the AAA 5th spot regardless. IMO, I think someone will just pitch on short rest. I will throw up if Masset starts. If I had to choose someone from the minors it would be Floyd or Broadway.
  13. QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ May 15, 2007 -> 10:34 PM) How do they count attendance for tomorrow? Do they always count paid attendance, or people in the seats? paid attendance
  14. It will be interesting to see who starts on Sunday, as Danks would be on three days rest. I would like to see Garland start tomorrow (with Jose pushed back), then have Garland pitch on short rest Sunday. Other options are Danks on short rest, and Haeger/Russell/Broadway(which could be a disaster).
  15. If I had to choose one player for the rest of the year between the Cubs and Sox at each position 3B Ramirez vs. Crede SS Izturis vs. Uribe 2B Theriot vs. Iguchi 1B Lee vs. Konerko C Barrett vs. Pierzynski LF Soriano vs. Sweeney (I believe he will be our LF the rest of the year) CF Pie vs. Erstad RF Jones vs. Dye SP Zambrano vs. Contreras Lilly vs. Garland Marquis vs. Buehrle Hill vs. Vazquez Miller vs. Danks Closer Dempster vs. Jenks The rest of our middle relief is better
  16. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2869747 I like the fact that it's starting on Wednesday, but I would much rather have it be a week earlier. Start the season three days earlier and have a few scheduled doubleheaders.
  17. It's hard to make trades this early. If the M's fall out of the race Ichiro will be available but Bavasi would be asking a lot (although KW has raped him twice).
  18. I would keep both of them and send down either Logan or Masset.
  19. Another pathetic showing by our offense. I also want to say that Masset should be sent down. He has sucked it up so far this year and his stuff hasn't been as good as advertised. I don't like him as the long man either.
  20. Does anybody else agree with me that the NBA needs to re-seed the playoffs after the first round like the NHL does? It sucks having possibly the two best teams left (Spurs-Suns) play in the second round.
  21. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 12, 2007 -> 12:47 AM) Around the time of the draft, Garza's name wasn't even in the discussion. There were three guys they were considering -- Broadway, Carrillo, and the third guy was a pitcher/OFer southpaw from Tulane (?), maybe? His name isn't coming to my head right now. Anyways, point being, I didn't see anyone at Baseball America saying the Sox should grab Garza. I can't actually believe that you wanted Garza -- perhaps a link of you saying the Sox should take Garza? The only thing I remember about Garza was that I was intrigued by his breaking ball. But IIRC, Garza was not throwing in the high 90s like he is now. You are thinking of Brian Bogusevic, who has sucked in the Stros organization so far. I didn't mind Broadway when we took him, thought he could maybe be a #3 starter. I thought he would have a better K rate in the minors, but he should still be a #4.
  22. Players shouldn't get free beer, but I have no problem players bringing their own in for after the game.
