  1. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 10:21 PM) Interesting first day. I don't know what to think about it, not a Wolfe fan (like his speed, absolutely dispise his size and I'd have prefered Michael Bush who I think is a stud) and I'm not too sure what to think about the LB from Stanford or the DE in the 2nd (simply because the team didn't need a DE). I love the first pick though. I'm one of Wolfe's biggest supporters, but I kind of thought he was a reach in the 3rd, especially with Bush on the board (who should have stayed in school IMO). The thing that concerns me with wolfe is his ability to stay healthy. Nobody can doubt his speed or what he did in college though, I don't care who he played against. Don't know anything about the LB, I was hoping for Doug Free. Kind of disapointed the Bears didn't improve the line.
  2. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 07:14 PM) I'll prepare myself for the inevitable White Sox production from their prospects. Which means a sub .200 average for several months.... Ozzie said he won't get a whole lot of playing time. I'll be pissed if I see Cintron playing ahead of Sweeney.
  3. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 05:16 PM) tell us what he says Talked about how it's nice to go to a winning team, how it felt to slip to the end of the second round. Missed some of it.
  4. yyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!
  5. Barring SD trading down Olsen is there for the taking. With Grubbs and Staley off the board I say the Bears take him.
  6. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 02:06 PM) Chris Denorfia traded to Oakland for two PTBN. Didn't Denorfia just have Tommy John?
  7. It's looking like Greg Olson could possibly fall to the Bears, but I don't think it will happen. I still look for us to take Grubbs/Staley/Sears.
  8. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 02:24 PM) i guarantee one of those guys will be there. Steve Smith could be as well and If those guys are there I don't know if the Bears pass. However, Quinn could fall all the way to the Bears because most of the teams picking next have QB's (unless of course Dallas, KC or Carolina grabs him or a team like Cleveland/Detroit moves up). And I'm not saying the Bears take him, but they could get some value from Detroit/Cleveland...say move down a couple picks and grab a nice 3rd. What do you think of Jarrett? He's still talented as hell but part of me says he has Mike Williams II written all over him. I would still love the Bears to get him.
  9. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 02:16 PM) They took a pretty talented guy in Harrell. I don't get all the booing because he's pretty damn talented but he had that injury. I think he would have been a top 10 pick had he not had that injury. I like it. I also must say I love Michael Smith. He's got great poise and actually knows what he's talking about (even though he had the Pack taking Meachem). God Meachem is a guy I'd freaking love too. I really want to make sure we surround Rex with weapons, a good oline (we should pick up a couple this year in order to prepare for our aging line) and I'm sure we'll be a back. I wouldn't mind Booker in the 3rd if he was there. Christ...they are going to have a shot at Sydney Rice and possibly Jarrett in the 2nd round so I don't see the need to panic. I'm hoping Grubbs falls to us. If we could get Rice or Jarrett in the 2nd round I'd be thrilled.
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 02:09 PM) I refuse to ever, ever wish injury on a player. It's a joke. Although I'm not saying I'd be upset if a Packers, AL central, Cubs, etc. player gets hurt.
  11. QUOTE(Fotop @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 01:56 PM) For the love of all that is holy, please don't let Brady Quinn go to GB. Dont think I could stomach the combination of Brady on the Packers and Jeff S. on the Cubs... I'm really hoping GB picks him. Couldn't wait to see Alex Brown break his leg.
  12. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 11:02 AM) Can someone give me a few solid eaxmples (with links or quotes included) as to why Schilling is supposedly such an A-hole? I hear people say that a lot, but I've never seen or heard any evidence of it. Back when he was with the phillies he would cover his head with a towel when Mitch Williams would come into the game. If you get a chance, watch "the top five reasons you can't blame Mitch Williams" on ESPN classic. A couple of his teamates, including Williams, really rip into him.
  13. QUOTE(JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 07:34 AM) because he sucks when it counts So does Erstad.
  14. I love how everybody is feeling sorry for Quinn, and trying to make everyone feel sorry for the guy. Give me a f***in break.
  15. What's Cassel's stuff like? It's amazing how big of a prospect Valido was two years ago.
  16. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 08:08 PM) I've not been able to watch a Sox game in Ames Iowa on ESPN aside from the 06 season opener. That's rigoddamndiculous. I take it you don't get comcast? I also assume you can't watch on MLB.tv
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 10:27 PM) Isn't there anything else to talk about? The fact that there have been about 30 threads started on the subject of Erstad/Anderson is actually pretty sad. Anderson just looks terrible and at this point I'm not even sure he's as good a player as Erstad. The whole subject is just tired and played out. I'm a BA supporter and I have to say I think I might agree with you. That being said I have always said that if BA doesn't start he needs to be in AAA. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 10:27 PM) The biggest tragedy involving the outfield is that KW refused to upgrade it this offseason instead going with 2 players who are incredibly similar to each other, one being 8 years older and incredibly injury prone, the other has attitude problems and appears to be a terrible offensive player incapable of making any sort of adjustments at the plate. Then you have the below average insanely oft-injured LF/leadoff hitter to finish of a trifecta of crap. Not upgrading the leadoff spot was the worst move of the offseason. Everybody on this board thought Pods was done, including myself.
  18. Much rather have them cancel the game now than have 3 hours worth of delays during the game.
  19. 70% chance of rain tonight, who knows if we get this game in.
  20. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 06:54 PM) Oct 20?!? Did I miss it or am I early? One of the best on the board.
  21. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:36 AM) Whenever a thread about radio sports guys come up I always have to add, Kevin Wheeler was the best ever, im still sad he is gone and the guy that took the overnight shift is the worse ever on 670. Wheeler was awesome, it's too bad they had to replace him with that Dr. Phil wannabe David Stein. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 11:54 PM) Does anyone know like what he is doing, is he doing radio part time now at all or have any plans in getting back into it. He was a hater, but he sure was enjoyable to listen too, plus he had great callers too. I miss the dave in mississipi conversations. Last I heard he was working in St. Louis. I thought it was a couple of nights a week or something.
  22. I have never liked the idea of playing regular season games outside the U.S./Canada. If they want to play preseason games fine, but teams get screwed up with the jetlag.
